Yes! :) Once the FLAC codec is installed, Sonica will work well with them. Sonica can read the tags from the FLAC files and can play them with no difficulties. It should be straightforward enough to install the codec (I hope!) but please let me know if you've any problems and I'll try to help out.

Another way to do this is with VNC. VNC allows you to see your computer desktop on another computer (or in our case the HD1000). If you use VncSix on your HD1000, with a VNC server running on your PC, you'd be able to navigate your computer desktop and select the BAT file to run yourself. More detai...

I sent my HD1000 off to Pyramid Audio, delighted to say I have it back filling the room with music :D A really big thanks to both Matt and Chris for taking care of my broken PhotoBridge, they really did a great job. If anyone has a broken PhotoBridge and they're anyway hesitant about fixing it thems...

V0.3 of the WavPack codec is now available. V0.3 is based on version 4.40 of the WavPack 'tiny' decoder. This version is able to playback some files that V0.2 could not handle. This version is also able to decode files between 10 to 15 percent quicker than V0.2 (based on various speed tests I've don...

I've uploaded version 1.0 of the FLAC codec.

This version of the codec is based on libFLAC 1.1.4 (most up to date) - previous versions of the codec were based on libFLAC 1.1.2

So I've thought of a completely different way of doing this. 1) Write a tiny script for the PhotoBridge that creates a file in a network share on the PC. 2) Call this script when you want a particular action to occur. 3) Have a BAT file running on your PC checking for the existence of this file, and...

Ok, I had a go and I got it working. Perhaps not the most elegant solution but very powerful, you can run pretty much any program on your PC from your PhotoBridge. I suppose if your PC controls anything else like lighting, air conditioning etc. they could also be triggered from your PhotoBridge. 1) ...

I haven't tried this, but I think you'd be able to do this using netcat on the PC http://www.vulnwatch.org/netcat/ If you look at the readme you'll see that you can use it to launch programs e.g. A far more exciting thing to do is to get a quick shell going on a remote machine by using the -l or &qu...

Just connecting your laptop and the PhotoBridge together with an ethernet cable won't work, as na9d mentions you'd need a different type of ethernet cable - a crossover cable. Are you sure when you tested the ethernet bridge with the laptop that you were testing it and not some built-in wifi functio...

Well, good news that the PhotoBridge now has an IP address. Have you tried attempting to see any shares? As for not being able to ping it... You've tested the ethernet bridge and it worked, but did you try it in the same room/location as the PhotoBridge? My first guess would be that it is working, i...

I shall probably modify this to suit the needs of my network since I am switching over to static IP's for some things. Just be careful when editing the file to use an editing program that won't change the line breaks. I've also written a script that you can run manually on the PhotoBridge (if you'v...

Ok, what I need is more specific information about your computer setup. Based on you using Windows XP, go to 'Start' on your computer and select 'Run'. In the dialog box that this opens type cmd This should open a command shell window. Now in this new window type the following command ipconfig /all ...

Re: Help setting up a share

With your existing wireless setup, try doing a complete reboot of the PhotoBridge (i.e. pull the plug) and see if you're able to get an IP address. Maybe try this a couple of times. Hypothetically, if a timeout issue isn't the problem, what then? In that case it could be a configuration error in the...

Yes, that helps. This sounds like the PhotoBridge is having a problem with DHCP (maybe a timeout) connecting via the wireless bridge. DHCP is the system used by your netgear router to give devices an IP address. I don't know if this is possible for you, but, for a test, could you connect the PhotoBr...
