It would probably be pretty straightforward to port some code that could produce SNMP traps - but the usefulness of doing so would really depend on what you're trying to achieve.
Are you trying to get it to report status such as video mode (for example) or the state of a particular application?

What version firmware are you running on your PhotoBridge? Networking support changed between the original installed firmware and the beta 2 firmwares.

Its got nice potential from a development perspective, but no use unfortunately for HD playback. Its video output is basically composite - no digital audio output either. But it is nice to see boxes like this making an appearance, and maybe a big brother to this could be (as you say) a worthy succes...

Its sonata, the inbuilt music player, you have to use at least once before installing any codec - not Sonica.

I think its an issue with Nero alright. I've had a few avi files where Nero has a serious audio lag (couple of seconds) that VLC was able to play ok (or with only a small audio lag).
Most of my avi files play fine with Nero however.
This is on a Athlon64-X2 4400
