Re: Bitrate Override Bug in 9.1

Most routers that aren't junk have the option to set bandwidth limiting PER DEVICE Just checked my ASUS RT-AC68 (Merlin) - and yea, seems pretty straight forward (but if it isn't there are a million tutorials on YouTube). The "Real Issue" is that data cap. I assume there are no other ...

Re: Bitrate Override Bug in 9.1

Pssssst! The function you're upset about losing never actually did anything anyway...: https://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=101059&p=556364&hilit=bitrate+override#p556387 1) If you're trying to work with a data cap you'd better purchase a router you can limit data with. 2) Q: Do ...

Re: Roku Ultra Issue

I guess we just need to be using, at least, HDMI 2.0...:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

If we're not, or we don't know - anything could happen...
If a 2.0 cable can be verified - and swapped out with another one just in case - then it must be something else.
Probably.

Re: Lutron Maestro Occupancy Switch and ROKU

If you look on the switch (under the plate or guts side - in the box), there might be some dip switches to change the channel. The corresponding switches would be in the remote - battery compartment would be the place to look. Lutron is a good switch and most good switches have a means to deal with ...

Re: Night Mode not working

... and besides - why would anyone want 5.1 audio when they can have Stereo? Uhhh... but anyway... Realistically for me, "Levelling" would only be necessary if the audio track suffered from Dufus Syndrome - when the Dufus creating the audio track didn't downmix it properly burying the dial...

Re: Night Mode not working

*A reminder that volume modes are not supported for surround sound audio formats, such as Dolby Digital or DTS. Well, that's handy info. Can't say I maintain any AAC tracks, or anything other than AC3 2.0/5.1 so that explains it. I'm sure that'll come as an unwelcome surprise to many, but now that ...

Re: Is my Roku 4 about to die?!?!?

If the unit works gluing a fan to the case over the existing fan opening may not pass muster at the Roku 4 Beauty Contest, but could remain in service indefinitely (or a reasonable facsimile of).

It would certainly score high marks in the:

Re: Night Mode not working

Just imagine how mad you'd be if you went through all that, had Night Mode, and it didn't work - like what's happening over at my house on my Roku Ultra 4660R. It's there, but does nothing useful.

I'm not mad about it, but wouldn't be upset if it was made to work at some point...

Re: Is my Roku 4 about to die?!?!?

The loose screws were not it.   Cleaned and lubricated the fan.   That seems to have done it. I hope you got a part#, or at least researched a suitable replacement, because if you have to lubricate a fan designed to never need lubricating, you can be reasonably assured it's lifetime has been exceed...

Re: How to Stop Constant Ads and Closed Captions

If you don't want ads, then subscribe to Netflix, Amazon Prime, or one of the other premium services. For the price you pay, you don't get ads. Although Amazon sneaks one in occasionally before your selection begins, but it's only for one of their own productions. And as noted, no channel is ever i...

Re: Battery Life on Remote

It's the new nature of the new beast. My Roku Ultra remote gobbles up and spits out batteries like candy through a spoiled child (not as severe as described above - that sounds like an RMA to me). I've never had the headphones plugged in. The remote becomes possessed by Satan at times, comes complet...

That same link takes me to the Express + (Plus):

... and just like my old Roku 2 HD - there it is. A special 8mm to RCA cord (included - I hope) facilitates the connection.

Is there some website/model funny bidness happening, or what?

Re: CLOC Time and Weather Missing

Does anyone know how to regain the weather, humidity and wind on the CLOC app screensaver.  When I first installed it, it worked great for several months and then all of a sudden, I only get the time stamp.  I've also tried to download the "private" Cloc app today, however, it is not show...

Re: How do I disable ads on my homescreen?

I hate ads more than any of yaz and ya'll is just trainees in ad hating!  I remove "...by viewers like you - Thank You" from my PBS material! I would rather see that home screen ad, than the giant black hole removing it would leave. I hardly ever even notice that ad, but am annoyed when I ...

Re: New forums?

There are 52 weeks in a year and a week goes by every 7 days (pretty much forever). Was there any indication of which of the coming weeks was the target?

(yes, rhetorical, 'cause Coming Weeks means the same thing as Coming Soon, and we all know how painful that can be)
