Re: Weather Radar

Weather Nation is ate up with the volume disaster dumass syndrome:
Normal -sometimes
Ads/Random - 400+db breaks my eardrums and blows me through the bay window.

I stopped installing WN a year or two ago when it became fairly obvious they just didn't give a ****.

Re: Weather Radar

The MyRadar App on FireTV, as you know, is a Radar App all others on Roku should aspire to be. If there is such an animal on Roku - I too would love to know about it. I use the one on my phone, or MyRadar on FireTV, cause frankly, there ain't any on Roku I've found worth taking up a channel slot. I...

Re: Install Stock Roku Firmware

Weather dependent - How easy are Hockey Pucks to come by in your country? That Roku box doesn't weigh as much (wild guess), but at 80MPH they'll still knock out some teeth (guaranteed). I think we heard a lot of this kind of talk when a Roku Clone was being sold in UK in some capacity similar to you...

Re: Those Pesky Lower Four Remote Buttons

So once every few months I accidentally hit one of those "dang" buttons.. Good for you. I was hitting one of them every other day, but I found a perfect and very soothing alternative in what, for a few minutes of my time, results in a lifetime (the lifetime of the remote) of uninterrupted...

Re: Those Pesky Lower Four Remote Buttons

It is perplexing to me, the number of people that come to the defense of these buttons.  To me they were an insidious abomination.  I was instantly relieved to be rid of them. ...Besides offering one button access to the designated channels (which some people appreciate), they also serve as an addi...

Re: Night Mode not working

Oh, it's buggy for sure. Other than have it attenuate volume nearly to an unhearable level across the board, I can't see it's doing much. 'Levelling' works exactly the same, as in; not very well. The feature, generally speaking, is sorely needed, but the way it's implemented at this time doesn't do ...

Re: Those Pesky Lower Four Remote Buttons

Go ahead and try that with yours and let us know if it still works after you experiment with unknown (Chinese) circuitry (like walking a tightrope, drunk, over the Grand Canyon, with no net).

Personally we LOVE the way our remotes look post-op. The scars of life tell a story. Read it. Live it.

Re: Interenet Speed

Not sure where to put this or if anyone is interested in replying to this, but I have a question about the internet speed.  I just got roku for my tvs and they seem to work well enough for my viewing experience.  However, when i look at my speed test on the xfinity website i am getting around 35 mb...

Re: Audio Leveling setting not persistent?

Roku Ultra App: Plex/Other (Many/Most/All) Frequency: Constant Symptom: Audio Leveling actually makes the audio quieter with no apparent "Leveling" in either 'Leveling' or 'Night'. Efforts to equalize voices and effects are useless (or at least it's not ever worked, to date). Workaround: T...

Re: is there a way to change the naive buttons

is there a way to change the 4 buttons on the remote to other channels? No, but there's a cult of Handheld Advertising Haters that surgically remove un-programmable buttons: 1) exacto knife 2) black tape 3) trash can/bio-hazard bin (to flip extracted buttons into) Kind of a learning curve to endure...

Re: Is it normal for a Roku device to be warm when in idle?

What about excessive use such as running an app like YouTube for six to eight hours could that cause a Roku device to overheat? The device is designed to operate under load - for ever. Yes, it'll generate heat. It's designed to dissipate that heat - Unless you have it wrapped in a towel jammed into...

Re: Manual Bitrate Reduction Suddenly Broken

The FIRST thing to do - if you haven't already...
Research a new ISP - without a Data Cap.

Trying to manage a Data Cap with a device designed to use Internet Data is... foolish.

Re: I can't watch my channels with my Roku Streaming Stick

But you can put the stick in any HDMI Port (on a TV Set or monitor), connect it to a WiFi network nearby and watch that way.

Re: Is it normal for a Roku device to be warm when in idle?

After a few hours in the idle Plex app, slightly warm is the report.
Basically no difference.
