I have grown accustomed to the Roku returning home (to the CLOC Screensaver) after a time of being idle (I'm asleep by then and fairly idle). The NEW Plex App for Roku will NOT return home... ever. Yes, I should post this on Plex's forum, but that would be like having a conversation with a red brick...
Did you try the private version? https://my.roku.com/add/CLOCPRI The Channel Store version may remain broken for a while until I rewrite it using the new SDK. The issue is so minor I'm not sure why weather.gov has a problem with the request for data, so it may start working again. -JT That fixed ...
I have tried many local zip codes - the last one 20001 (Washington, D.C.). I can only assume at this point 9.0 broke it on my Roku Ultra (4660) 'cause since the day it updated the trusty CLOC with Weather can only display The Clock.
...and the one thing we can be sure of: Developers are NOT users. Developers also don't have data caps. Roku puck and stick owners with caps should stop streams before they go on vacation, of course, because your puck/stick (in most cases) doesn't know your TV is off and that's a good idea for Roku...
Unfortunately, this Winter has seen several "50 Year" wind storms that took out 50 years of dead wood aloft, that in turn took out a lot of the infrastructure in the 'tri-state'. At least twice the ISP has had a major outage and may still have some of us routed through TimBukThree. We lost...
Not sure how a bog-standard user (like me) would find the version (private) - looked all over the place to no avail. I couldn't find a way either. :) Seems like a minor oversight on Roku's part. I had assumed you could highlight it in the screen of screensavers and press the Options button like ...
I updated the private version (I'm not sure I can update the public version without converting to the new SDK, so it may be broken for a while). Make sure you have version 2.5 build 5. There may also be something going on with weather.gov since I'm seeing "Service Unavailable" responses...
I had to cancel Netflix Streaming some time ago due to their unique ability to make the UI and the displaying of their content so annoying I could get no enjoyment out of it. I maintain the DVD/BluRay deliveries and to date they've not found a way to infect physical media with their nonsense. If Ne...
I'm going to call Netflix back today. I was on the phone for 11 minutes and a lady customer service representative was looking into sone stuff and we got disconnected. Wait... you called India for support and got disconnected? Consider that a gift . Actually, the lady from Netflix was American, but...

I am always complaining about ADs., how ads on streaming media is tortuous and getting worse literally by the day. But the ads to the right of the menu screen do not bother me. On the other hand, probably wont be long before there are 2 of them. Toss in a video ad. All good things come to an end. ...
I have a prediction. 6 months after we all get the Apple/Roku app and have subscribed to a bunch of channels. Apple informs us that because of Apple's proprietary super-secret encryption software we will need to purchase an Apple Branded Remote to use their Roku app. It can only be purchased and re...
My Roku remote eats batteries like no other remote I have ever had. Is there an issue with this? I replace the batteries every two weeks its crazy. Any help would be appreciated. It's not just the stick remote. I have an Ultra, never had the headphones plugged in - when two AA Duracells need repl...
I can't recall that ever happening, but my opinion on The Roku Channel is like the local Bob's Big Boy...: They started serving a Turd Sandwich. OK. I'll pass, but fine. Then they changed the trusty and revered statue out front - to a giant Turd Sandwich. OK. Then they started making you taking a bi...
Works fine for a while then suddenly it's blowed up. Eventually it comes back to it's senses if you hammer on the buttons enough (or it reboots itself). Eats batteries too (never had earbuds plugged in - ever).
