Re: Playing aac streams

cslewis2003, there are several flavours of AAC. Indie 88's obviously offers an HE-AAC (AACplus) stream which the SoundBridges can't handle (full AACplus support was never implemented by Roku). There's nothing you can do to play Indie 88 on your SoundBridge, I'm afraid, other than ask the station to ...

Re: Lousy email marketing

Shawn, nice try, but etymology (the study of the origin and history of words) won't help. Wikipedia says: These prefixes are usually inserted by the email client. RE: or "Re:" followed by the subject line of a previous message indicates a reply to that message. And that's exactly what my e...

Re: Advice Please - Roku 3/Nexus 7

Hengus,

if you don't want to directly connect the tablet to the TV the best (and probably only) method to mirror the Nexus' screen to a TV is - as sakisf already wrote - a miracast adapter like the Netgear PTV3000. Android 4.4 KitKat supports Miracast out of the box.

Re: Roku 3 USB/Media Player no thumbs with UPnP AV server

My DNS-323's do not seem to have any reference to any DLNS server on any of the Admin Pages. The topic is called "UPnP AV Server" in the DNS-323's web interface (see page 33 of the User Manual ). There don't seem to be any settings, however, to tell the NAS to provide thumbnails. Greeting...

Re: email confirmation problem

Hello Jason, welcome to the forums. Unfortunately the SoundBridges are legacy products, so expecting support from Roku might be wishful thinking. What does a guy have to do to get things sorted around here? You can send a PM to Forum Liaison Officer RokuShawnS and ask him to forward your request to ...

Re: ITunes 11 and Soundbridge M500 - no hope?

Hi Bob, Dupondt, which SoundBridges are you running? I tested with an R1000 (SoundBridge Radio) running 3.0.44 and an M1001 running 3.0.52. iTunes runs on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Strangely enough, when I tested again today the SoundBridge could connect to iTunes and play some tracks. @paperma...

Hi jelockwood,
If anyone else still reads these forums, confirmation that this seems to be the correct specification would be much appreciated.
both power supplies meet the specifications for the M2000.

Re: ITunes 11 and Soundbridge M500 - no hope?

Same issue here. With iTunes 11.1.4.62 on Windows 7 my SoundBridges (firmware versions 3.0.44 and 3.0.52) see the library but don't connect.

Looks as though Apple removed the support for the SoundBridges from iTunes. Maybe the license agreement with Roku ended?

Re: Why Your Cat6/5e Network Cable is Slowing You Down

The maximum speed you need out of a cable for streaming (5800kbps for Netflix, I assume - is anyone streaming faster?) is a tiny, tiny percentage of the max speed of even a basic ethernet cable. Not even a Blu-ray Disc movie - provided you have the equipment to stream it over your local network - w...

???

PlayCast is a channel for the Roku Player which is available from Roku's own Channel Store (see http://www.roku.com/channels/#!details/28559/playcast), so it must have been approved by the Powers that be at Saratoga, CA.

Hi Matt and Les and the rest of the bunch, I, too, wish you a merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy and successful New Year (you've got mail, BTW). All of our family's SoundBridges are still in heavy use, whereas the Amazon-Netflix Wonderbox-Thingy (TM alanmc) has been retired (XMBC on an Raspber...

Re: BBC Radios 1-5

I guess, if you are a BBC fan then it's Roku at fault, or if you are a Roku fan then blame the Beeb for not offering mp3! The sad (or funny) thing is that the Roku is capable of decoding AAC but only if it's part of a video stream or file (see section Supported Video Formats in the Developer Guide)...

Re: M 2000 remote

Hallo Herr Nachbar,

the SoundBridge remotes are interchangeable, so yes, an M1000 remote will work with an M2000.

You can also use universal remotes, for example a Logitech Harmony or one of the OneForAll devices.

It's also possible to control the SoundBridge with a smartphone.

Re: Make the M1001 play a mp3 thats on a webserver?

Alex, simply put the audio file's URL into one of the M1001's presets. The URL http://media.ndr.de/progressive/2013/1212/AU-20131212-1835-5442.mp3 for example will play a piece of German comedy. You will notice that the SoundBridge will play the file in an endless loop. This is because playing files...
