Re: NETFLIX PRICE HIKE FOR EVERYONE..even longtime customers

I got the same email as bvd1022 a couple of years ago and got the price increase last month, i'm keeping Netflix for now because the cost is still worth it, but i doubt i'll keep it if  they enact another price increase without improving their movie selection. I just don't watch tv series and while ...

Re: Speedtest Roku app speed disparity

You guys got me curious, so i tested my Rokus, i'm on Time Warners standard 50 down/5 up plan and my Roku 3 (wired) got 40mbps and my Roku 1 (wifi) got 10mbps. The Roku 3 was about what i expected, but i thought the Roku 1 would get around 20mbps, so a little slower than i expected, but the 1 only u...

Re: Roku 4 stick does not see any DLNA server

Hmm, i've had the same scenario, Plex on Roku works fine while Roku media player doesn't see any servers, but a reboot/power cycle always fixed it (i just reboot the router to catch everything at once) so i'm at a loss. You can try re-installing the Roku media player by removing it, rebooting your R...

Re: Roku 4 stick does not see any DLNA server

I hate to ask if you've tried turning it off and on, but, have you tried rebooting or power cycling your D-Link DNS-323? Sometimes devices can be finicky and just need a "fresh" connection on the network to see one another.

Re: Roku and Netflix ...devices

Years ago i got a message from Netflix saying i had too many devices registered and it gave a number to call, so i called it and the Netflix rep removed the devices i didn't want registered, i have no idea if they still do that, but if you go to your Netflix account page and scroll to the bottom you...

Re: Roku 1st gen models

Just a heads up grim107, on the Time Warner channel on my Roku 1 i get a notice every once in a while saying the channel works better on a Roku 2 or above, there was even some confusion recently that made it seem as though Time Warner was dropping support for the Roku 1, although they later clarifie...

Re: Is Roku4 DLNA compatible with Netgear? Roku 2 and 3 are not

Just to add a bit to what atc98092 said, i use minidlna on a Linksys running OpenWrt and if i remember right, and a quick googling seems to confirm, Netgear uses ReadyMedia, which is just minidlna rebranded. Minidlna streams fine to my Roku 1 and 3, i'm sure Netgear tweaked the way ReadyMedia handle...

It looks like the post count on the main thread level is one off, your comment here on the thread shows as #33, but on the main thread level it shows 32.

Re: Roku 1st gen models

I'm waiting to cut the cable cord too microlady, there isn't much keeping me tethered to it these days, but there's just enough that i haven't been able to take the leap just yet. We seem to be right at the beginning of the a la carte era, HBO and Shotime have standalone channels now, i've seen rumo...

Re: Man this forum update blows!

One item I don't seem to see anymore, at least on my tablet, is posting count. If I browse and see a 0 or 1 for replies I'm more likely to read and see if I can be helpful, unlike if I see multiple pages of replies. This seems to be gone. I'm on my phone right now and the comment count is to the ri...

Re: YouTube videos zooming in on Roku 1

Thanks for the quick replys. Do all YouTube videos have this problem or just certain ones. If just certain ones, can you include some names? rokudale It seems to be all videos, i've tried choosing random videos on the YouTube home page, videos that i knew were available in 720/1080p, videos i knew ...

Re: Roku 1st gen models

Thanks for the responses, i was perfectly happy with my N1100 and would still be using it today if the TWC channel (time warner cable) was available for it, but the combination of it no longer being supported and the possibility of turning my cable box in to get rid of the monthly rental fee made th...

Does this problem happen with any other channel, like Netflix? cnbc, amazon?

No, all my other channels work fine, i've been using the YouTube plugin for Plex as an alternative and it also works fine, the official YouTube channel is the only one having the problem.

Roku 1st gen models

I'm going to be visiting my folks soon and i'll be taking my Roku HD N1100 with me to give them so they can watch Netflix in their office. I decided to replace it with a Roku 1 when Roku dropped support for for the HD last year, shame it's no longer supported because it's a nice unit, ethernet, HDMI...
