Re: Roku 1st gen models

Thanks for the responses, i was perfectly happy with my N1100 and would still be using it today if the TWC channel (time warner cable) was available for it, but the combination of it no longer being supported and the possibility of turning my cable box in to get rid of the monthly rental fee made th...

Does this problem happen with any other channel, like Netflix? cnbc, amazon?

No, all my other channels work fine, i've been using the YouTube plugin for Plex as an alternative and it also works fine, the official YouTube channel is the only one having the problem.

Roku 1st gen models

I'm going to be visiting my folks soon and i'll be taking my Roku HD N1100 with me to give them so they can watch Netflix in their office. I decided to replace it with a Roku 1 when Roku dropped support for for the HD last year, shame it's no longer supported because it's a nice unit, ethernet, HDMI...

Re: WatchESPN app and 60fps on Roku 3

I remember the choppiness on ESPN, especially noticeable on the scroll at the bottom as richeydog pointed out, i say remember because somewhere along the way the choppiness stopped, i wish i could say when but i don't remember, it's been long enough that i forgot about it until i saw this post, but ...

Re: Thanks for the new forum software!

I hate to be *that* guy, but the light grey text on white background is pretty hard to see, at least on my monitor, and it really strains the eyes trying to read it, the darker text is fine and everything else looks great. Then again, i have to wear glasses and my eyes aren't all that great to begin...

Re: Casting to Roku from device on different subnet?

I'm not sure if this will help, but i used to have one of my Rokus connected to an OpenWrt router set up as a simple repeater, so the Roku was on 192.168.2.xxx and my Plex server was on 192.168.1.xxx and it worked fine, in that set up devices on 192.168.2.xxx could see devices on 192.168.1.xxx, but ...

Re: Roku 3 (I have 6) Randomly Crashing, Re-booting Lately

I get reboots on my Roku 3 occasionally and it always happens when starting the TWC channel or while watching the TWC channel, haven't had any problems with YouTube or Plex on my Roku 3 (lots of problems with YouTube on my Roku 1, but that's another thread). I've noticed that sometimes TWC freezes d...

Re: Roku 1 WiFI

I don't know about wifi problems on the Roku 1 in general, but wifi on mine has always worked well. Wifi isn't inhibited by going up or down, but distance and physical objects do inhibit it, it's possible your Roku 1 is farther from your router than the one in the basement or the walls in between yo...

Re: YouTube videos zooming in on Roku 1

just so we are on the same page you are connected via HDMI on the Roku 1 correct? Yes, but, it's an older tv and only has a DVI connection, no HDMI, so i use an HDMI cable with an HDMI to DVI adapter connected to the tv's DVI. I thought that would be the cause of the problem at first, but YouTube w...

YouTube videos zooming in on Roku 1

Hi, i have a Roku 1 (2710X, software version 7.2.0) and started having problems with YouTube recently, the YouTube home page is fine and when a video is played it begins fine, but then Loading...... appears on the screen and a few seconds later the video zooms in, if that makes sense, it's like zoom...
