Why don't you just connect the roku to the G network for now? All of the services that are currently out there should be fine running at G speeds. That would be my first choice if no N wide band support exists. I would love to hear some feedback from users - on networks where there are multiple G c...

I guess your life sucks then, huh? If you are so very concerned with it bringing down your "backbone" (this is a house, not a datacenter) speed then turn it off when not in use. Again though, I ask, are you constantly moving huge files around? I regularly move several GB files around quic...

I would guess no, but that's just a guess. However, you'll never achieve maximum anyway and I doubt you are now. And is 130Mbps not enough? Are you constantly sending 20GB files around your wireless network? My home network uses a 270Mb N (wide band) backbone to distribute between my main gateway/r...

N Wireless model - wideband 802.11N supported?

Greetings

Does anyone know if the N radio supports wide band - 40Mhz channel width?

This would be required to support the full 270Mbs capability.

My home wireless uses this. If the Roku only supports 20Mhz channel width, it will drag my wireless speeds down to 130Mbps.

Re: Thank you!

While there may be some sadness about this product reaching the end of it's life, there is still plenty to do with it. Unlike you, I bought it specifically for the fact that it could play thousands of internet stations, and not so much for the fact that I could listen to all my purchased music. I s...

1) G is the fastest, I believe. It runs very well.. I have my router on one end of the house upstairs, and the Roku on the other end of the house and in the basement. I get 4 dots + HD. 2) It currently can't play your PC's media. Have the Roku folks made any mention about accessing locally stored p...

I have a couple questions I cant seem to find an answer for.. 1) Does this device support wireless N? If not how is the download/streaming on a G network? 2) Is this device capable of accessing my shar...

:? Hi, I've just recently come across the whole Roku system and am excited to think this might be the "answer I've been looking for!". I'm convinced I should be able to find a system that will allow my cptr music library to be the "brains" of the house and that I should be able ...

Congrats on your decision.

Suggestion: don't pay $199.

Roku has refurbished M1001s for $129.99 with 1 year warranty.

Others with 1 year warranty (BRAND NEW):

Teckwave $143.62 plus $9.17 shipping
Ritzcamera $147.05 plus $6.95 shipping

I just ordered mine from Amazon - $139 new
