I'm getting a lot of complaints from viewers with Roku TVs. Some of my contents are not HD. All the viewers with Roku TV, only can get sound and a black screen for these contents.
I think your problem is exactly like mine. I suppose you have "series" and after resuming from last session this is happening. Roku team knew the bug and they are working on it!! It's more than a month that I have this problem.
There is a lot of errors in Docs and samples. Look at blog post explaining monetization for DP: Adding mid-roll ads By default, channels built using Direct Publisher will display pre-roll ads. This should be sufficient for short-form videos. For other media types — such as movies or episodes — a pub...
ShoerFormVideo cannot play mid-roll adbreaks. only pre-roll is playing. I think when the content is "short video", it should be short, not one hour long.

I had this problem before. I changed my "providerName" in feed, renamed the file and system accepted my feed.
Okay, added the MIME type to the server via CPanel. Then, I went to security / IP Blocker and see there are no IP's blocked. Did you try your json file so many times? I know some servers, if there is so many tries from certain IP, will block IP from accessing the file. Make sure Roku IPs are not blocked in your server side.
I'd never used captions before. but in other cases mine will update every 6h. One question: in your feed status page do you get any red flag or everything is green? and look at the time stamp this shows the time your feed has been updated. try to change the feed name and update feed URL.
Just update your feed with a new one (Same address and same name) in your side. Roku will read the feed every 6 hours or so. it will be green if the file is correct.
