Re: Security bug: Wireless WEP/WPA key exposure

Hello, Once I have setup the Roku on my wireless network it appears that anyone can go into the setup of the device at any point in time and easily view the WEP/WPA key that is configured on the device. Since the device is hooked up to my TV for anyone to use they can easily grab the key to my wire...

I am hooked up via component and I still see the softness your talking about. it doesn't really bother me that much as the picture quality is still very fine for me. I had a friend stop by and look at it and he wasn't impressed at all. He is very much into HD and he didn't like it because it wasn't...

If your remote is one that is programmed from the web, the roku box is already in the list. Just select model number N1000

The only thing it isn't already set to use is the Home button, which is not needed anyway unless you want to get into debug mode.

You know, I tried watching it but I didn't really like it. And I usually like shows like this! I watched a couple hours worth and then finally gave up on it. I think I started watching Sliders instead. By the way, Sliders was awesome right up until the time they killed off the Professor. :( I agree...

Ok, I think this series got a bumb wrap at only 2.5 stars. If your into family shows, Check out "A Twist in the Tale". It was made in 1999 and has William Shatner as the story teller. Its a New Zealand tv show and involves a bunch of kids that he is telling the story to, who in turn appear...

Well, its all going to depend if they have them in stock or not. When I ordered mine, it did not say they were out of stock but it turned out they were. I ordered mine on a saturday and I got it on the thursday after next, so almost 2 weeks. That was with 2 day shipping :(

Well, you could always try the old fashioned way. Turn off the modem, plug the roku directly into it and then power it back on. If it works, then you know its something on your lan that is causing the problem. If it doesn't then it could be the modem that is causing it. Of course, you might have to ...

When I first got mine it played fine then about a day or two after that, I started to have the exact same problem. My problem turned out to be a roadrunner issue. Going up and looking at their network status page, they were having all kinds of issues. It took them almost 4 days to clear it up. Durin...

I thought macrovision and/or hdmi only kicked in when you were in 1080. I guess I must be wrong on that after looking at the macrovision site.

The Roku box requires both a broadband connection (cable/DSL/fiber) and a router to provide an IP address (via DHCP - static addressing, unfortunately, has yet to be added). So you can't simply disconnect your PC from a cable modem and attach the Roku directly. You can also use a gateway device whi...

Worked for one movie but subsequent ones are back to three dots. Does it need to be done each time a movie/show is loaded? The only time you have to reset it is if your box reboots or you reboot it. So if it hasn't rebooted then it didnt actually get set. When you set it, you have to highlight the ...

Re: Programming Univeral Remote for Roku box

Are there remote codes for the Roku box? I would doubt it. My experience is that if your device is newer than when the remote was designed (much less made or purchased), your chances of finding a correct code are pretty marginal. And since the NetFlix Player hasn't been around that long, it's a lit...
