While I dont use HDMI, from what your reporting, it sounds like you might have a bent pin on your hdmi connection on the tv itself. The symptoms you describe is exactly what you would see on a monitor with the same problem.

Ok, UPDATE. I wanted to find out for myself and I talked to Netflix's tech support. Here is the final word from them. PC's: up to 4 PC's can have connections in a 7 day period. Depending on your account setup is determined how many of those can be going at once. After 7 days of inactivity any pc's t...

When you say 4 devices does that mean if I sign on with 4 computers - I can only use those 4 computers for that whole year? Well, I am guessing with the computers. I have seen other folks say that computers went against their devices. When I look at my active devices it only shows my roku box so I ...

So if my netflix account is for one DVD with unlimited IW and I buy two Roku units I can use both but just not at the same time -- is that correct? Yes, your allowed 4 devices per year to be connected to netflix and that includes any pc's that you have used to watch IW with. any of them can be used...

It depends on your account. If you have 1 out dvd unlimited only 1 IW instance at a time. 2 out dvds unlimited=2 iw sessions at the same time. All the way up to having 4 devices total. Keep in mind your only allowed 4 devices per year. So if you do IW on a pc or happen to be at a friends house and s...

Re: We all know there isn't a free lunch

How is $100 up front and at least $8 a month a free lunch? Easy, you're not paying Netflix a penny more a month to view the instant watch content. You're paying to rent DVDs. Not necessarily true. One, there is no way to get Instant Watch without paying the monthly fee. And two, while I'm not one o...

I am using component running directly to my Mitsubishi 65511 65inch wide screen hdtv (2003 model, No HDMI connections :( ). It is running in 480p and at 4 dot quality it is really nice. I have an OLD (15+ years) Pioneer receiver that I am passing audio to only. Comparing the picture to directv runni...

keiffers, I looked through your posts, and I didn't see which router (including version) you had. I have a D-Link DIR-655 router. It has the latest firmware available for it (1.11). I'm using WPA with a hidden SSID, and also MAC address filtering. Let me know if you need additional information. I c...

Mine has never automatically updated except on a reboot. But if I start flipping through what I have in the queue, after a few seconds it will appear. Sometimes it can take up to 30 seconds or so for it to show up after I start flipping through what is in there. I just assumed that was how it was su...

I just followed you down the rabbit hole my hyperbole was just an extension of your logic. In my own words your logic is: since one company markets for another they need to seen as one, not two. Therefore if I have an issue with one, I have an issue with both and both should suffer the consequences...

I am upconverting through my reciever (Onkyo TX-SR 705) to 1080i and displaying on a 1080p television, both using the Faroudja processor. I am very pleased with the results. Crisp... clear...even on animation titles. Take a look at Heroes Season 2. I am getting the highest quality feed and have bee...

I think I may be answering my own question here. It appears that my receiver, the Onkyo SR705, will upconvert component video as well as HDMI, so I may only need to use the component. General thoughts appreciated. Diana I have mine hooked up via component also but I am not upconverting, hadn't real...

Doom-It's not about 'good customer service', it's about reasonableness. An RMA process that takes 2 days is reasonable (Roku should be allowed time to receive, inspect, test, and respond, and we know they are a relatively small company-not an Amazon). Shipping out 2-day after RMA approval is reason...
