Re: Conflicts using rsg_version=1.2 before OS 9?

When uploading a bundle with manifested rsg_version=1.2 , always mark minimum OS requirement as 9.0 in dev.portal. That way the new version goes only to devices that actually support RSG 1.2 - when they get upgraded to 9.0, which may take months. I don't want to speculate / take a guess on how r...

Re: How to add Ads in the adpod from two different APIs?

something like this? (typed, not tried) adBreak = invalid for each url in urls    raf.setAdUrl(url)    adPods = raf.getAds()    if adPods <> invalid and adPods.Count() > 0        if adBreak = invalid            adBreak = adPods        else ' assuming VAST, only 1 pod '            adBreak[0].ads.appe...

Re: How to parse HTML tags by using Brightscript?

i doubt actual string would have backspace literals, that's neither here (html) nor there (c source) encoding. In Roku-speak, \r\n\t would have been chr(13)+chr(10)+chr(8)

Re: How to parse HTML tags by using Brightscript?

don't use roRegEx when simple .replace() would do; the latter is faster.
roXmlElement may be of help, if the html in question is well-formed from the point of view of XML.

Re: How to add Ads in the adpod from two different APIs?

You can do that, see the ad structure that can be used to RAF.importAds() https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/Integrating+the+Roku+Advertising+Framework#IntegratingtheRokuAdvertisingFramework-AdStructure It's an array of ad pods. Where each pod is AA with `ads` being an array of ads. You can sim...

Re: RAF and Bundle ID macro

Not exactly what you asked for, but you can use ROKU_ADS_APP_ID that contains the Roku app#.
This can be used for a singe ad tag for all of your apps on Roku.

Re: Passing a variable out of a function

I've read bits in the Roku documentation that suggest that m.top.movieContent and m.top.findNode("movieContent") are synonymous, however I'm finding that's not true, at least not in terms of scope of the variable. No, they are not synonymous. m.top.movieContent accesses attribute/field of...

They removed telnet from OSX? Ouch.
Try one of these - http://osxdaily.com/2018/07/18/get-telnet-macos/ - i personally would probably just do
brew install telnet

I'm trying to enter debug mode a Roku app built on a MacBook Pro on the Terminal using debug.sh.

What is a "debug.sh"? Sounds like some shell script which gets killed by ctrl-C

You are on Mac, so in Terminal type telnet MY-ROKU-IP 8085 and then ctrl-C there.

Re: SG objects slow with Brightscript

i will take a guess that code is running in the main() thread or a task thread - from there setting/getting fields experiences rendezvous penalty with the render thread. Try doing that from the render thread, e.g. in the init() or other method of the scene (or other visual node, i.e. Group subclass)...
