Re: Ability to Dim the Roku's Screen?

To me a "dimmed screen" is an actual thing, that you've seen on your laptop or phone or whatever. It's accomplished by reducing the brightness of the backlight. It looks very much different than putting a transparent grey layer on top of the image. If that's OK then fine, but that wasn't ...

Re: Screenshot Resolution not the same as currentDesignResolution

video HDMI signal is in whatever "physical" resolution you have chosen in Settings > Display type (if Auto, the highest it could detect supported). and so is the screenshot. currentDesignResolution on the other hand is "logical" resolution, it means the coordinate system in whic...

Re: Ability to Dim the Roku's Screen?

2. You can certainly do this, but It doesn't look like a dimmed screen, it looks like you put something over it. why not? cover it with black at certain alpha and that will darken the screen, no? talking w/o thought much but seems doable. since linear may not play well with gamma correction but if ...

Re: GetChannelClientId - What makes identifier unique?

each channel has unique ID already - the one that you see in ECP :8060/query/apps or 8080 `plugins`, or in the URL of dev.portal when editing app properties. if that is used as part of the input to cryptographic hash function, it will ensure that the output digest differs from app to app. i haven't ...

true that, getScene() says added in 7.6
https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc ... -getScene()asroSGNode
if stuck at old FW version - by all means, do what you have to do to make it work!

Re: Setting roSGScene object on global

I don't see it wrong doing the above.

Albeit don't see it being necessary either - assuming you are using only one scene, you can always get that by calling m.top.getScene() from any thread (and in the main() thread can do that with screen.getScene())

Not at the moment. But this is falling on a sympathetic ear -
Can you please explain in more detail your case - what is this "bundle id"?
Where do you want to insert it, in beacons or?

Re: Certifying channel question

I would be ok with keeping  the channel private since the app triggered installation is working fine for most but it isn't working for users in Mexico. I'm guessing private channels don't work there anymore? i don't know the answer to that but i won't be surprised, since we had (it was in the news)...

Re: roAssociativeArray Appen() doesn't append nested roAssociativeArrays!

The name ".append()" is an unfortunate misnomer. Method should have been named ".update()", because that's what it does: A.append(B) adds (if new) to A - or replaces (if pre-existing) - key-value pairs from B. It is a shorter (and faster) version of: for each key in B A[key] = B[...

Re: RAF disable pausing ads

Currently RAF does not show Pause indicator, though a future API may. I believe ATM you could use setTrackingCallback() to listen for Pause/Resume events and display your own indicator. Disabling altogether pause/resume of video ads is not supported by RAF, this is by design - otherwise it's a bad e...
