Hi jtbse, the scripts work well. I think I'll stick with 1586! The only problem I had was when I did a restore of the playlists while firefly was still running: it seems to prevent firefly from making any further connections. But killing firefly and restarting restores normal functioning. The "...

Re: Can't play FLAC or OGG transcode but can play MP3

Help, I can't seem to play transcoded files (FLAC/OGG to WAV) on my Soundbridge M1001. I'm running Firefly on an NSLU2. It used to play OGGs fine, so I don't know what's happened there, but I've never been able to get FLACs to work properly. I'm using svn-1696. Also MP3s stream fine to RhythmBox in...

1696 ran without a hitch yesterday, serving ALAC audio continuously over an 8 hour period on a WinXP box. Autoscan library updates were triggered properly by a M1000 too. I haven't tried it on the NAS yet, but the test increased my confidence in doing so. Mas, have you tried 1696 yet on your NAS to...

Does this work on version 0.2.4.1 as I cant see compilations listed anywhere in the UI or config file. Or do I need to use a nightlies version.

Thanks
Paul

That's only available in nightlies.

Thanks mas, I was debating putting 1695 on my NAS, but I'll take your advice and wait a bit. What actually happens when your NAS runs out of memory? Does it reboot, get sluggish, stop dead, etc.? probably kills the firefly process. Although 1696 fixes several memory leaks, and probably is okay to r...

Re: AIFF files

I created an AIFF version of an iTunes song by burning a CD with iTunes. I imported it into another iTunes library and it played fine. I could also play the CD in my car CD player. I copied it onto my Vista machine where I have Firefly and the log file said that it wasn't an AIFF file. BTW, I added...

Preference pane cannot determine status, icon does not appear in menu bar, server does not run.

As soon as I have a running copy of leopard, I'll try and replicate this.

Re: Server stops unexpectedly or hangs

I've been using Firefly for quite some time and it's worked flawlessly for me; until now. Here's my setup: Mac OS 10.4 Intel Firefly 1.0 and svn-1695 (I've tried both with the same results) FireWire drive holds my music AND my iTunes library ~/music/iTunes is an alias to the above library I used to...

Got a marginally big memory leak in it, but other than that, okay.

Re: itunes can't load firefly share

I've installed firefly 1.0 svn-1359 on a pc running XP pro. Both my Roku M1001 sounbridges connect to the share fine and have been playing for hours so far. But my iTunes 7.4.3.1 on a laptop can't. It initially sees the share, but when I click on it it starts to load then suddenly drops back to the...

Yea, im sure. I have watched the traffic with tcpdump, and the soundbridge doesnt send anything to the router. I have solved it by installing a avahi-daemon on the router / firewall, and that one announces the firefly server to the soundbridge. I see two different scenarios why it doesn't subscribe...
