Re: Roku Remote for Google Chrome

Yeah, a more formal issue tracker would be nice, but it's been my experience that they're pretty responsive to developers and the community in general. Speaking of which, would you be ok with me setting up a google code site for the merged project? I'm finding the need to implement some kind of ver...

Re: Roku Remote for Google Chrome

MojaMike: That is very cool. It is great when applications are intrinsically multi-platform by nature of the framework chosen. gonzotek: Your reasoning for going simplified BSD makes sense for this project. I have re-released under the same exact license. I choose the keyboard mapping based on the f...

Re: ROKU Customer Service - Where Are you???

Is it the Roku itself producing the "Unsupported Audio" messages or some other device? What device(s) are you plugging the Roku into? I noticed problems with some HDMI switches that use power off of the HDMI signal instead of a power adapter. If you have an HDMI switch or audio receiver be...

Re: Roku Remote for Google Chrome

I am open to merging. Are we looking to merge under the GPLv3 or simplified BSD? I hope Gonzotek get a chance to look my attempt at the "Remote Text Box" for keyboard based remote control. That is one feature I really hate to loose. The other feature I liked about mine is keeping everythin...

Re: Universal remote

It would be nice if Roku had "Learn Remote" option just like Apple TV does. Then you could just take any old remote you have laying around and teach the Roku to use it.

Re: Roku Remote for Google Chrome

I'm glad I was able to provide a solution to your hoodie collection cloaking your remote. :) Just don't loose your netbook/laptop under the hoodies too.

Re: Remoku - A Web App for remote control of Roku Players

gonzotek: It is amazing how similar this is to what I have been working on this week. Since what I wrote only works on Webkit browsers (Chrome, Safari, Arora, etc.), I am interested in to see how your javascript works. Crow550: A network based remote will only help your friend as long as the Roku ne...

Roku Remote for Google Chrome

I know that gonzotek has released a web browser remote control already. But I thought I would still make mine available. The download link is: https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0Bxt0rOscbvvEMjJhZDllOWItNzcyOS00Y2U1LWFkZDgtZjI2ZTVlZWZjZjk5&export=download&hl=en_US It is not written to work across...

Re: Critique of Roku DVP Firmware Version 2.8 b1150

I am disappointed that Roku requires a new remote to re-order channels. The play/pause button on the current remote does nothing on the home screen. I understand that they want to promote the new Info button for certain functionality but there should be at least an option in the Setting to assign th...

A two hour movie would have mostly 20 byte time stamps, not just 10 byte. The time stamp is in milliseconds and has 13 additional characters of overhead. So, the time stamps start at 14 characters for 0 milliseconds and quickly grows after about 16 minutes to 20 byte time stamps. It seems likely tha...

ADA compliance is the standard in areas where the government mandates it. For television broadcast streams the FCC has made close captioning a standard. For Internet streams, the FCC has no control. Instead, it seems we are still feeling the side-effect results of "Access Now, Inc. vs. Southwes...
