Re: TCL 43S405 Drops/loses OTA channels sporadically

Three possible reasons: 1) Most likely it is the distance to the transmitter and weather conditions. You might have scanned on a bright starry winter night with ideal conditions. Some channel strength has dropped  below the threshold on the next rainy windy day. You would only reliably get channels ...

Re: What’s the best way to connect a Roku TV to an AVR?

You should be able to connect all video sources directly to TV and return audio to AVR via HDMI ARC. No?

Re: What’s the best way to connect a Roku TV to an AVR?

This also means that all of my connected sources are stuck having the exact same video settings as each other since they’re all technically connected to the same HDMI input on the TV, at least as far as it’s concerned. Your assumption is wrong. Your TV will display whatever signal comes though HDMI...

Re: Roku TCL 49S517 2.0 or 5.1?

Theoretically everything checks out. You’re good to go. Make sure it’s hdmi out on your receiver to hdmi arc on your tv. Also follow the receiver manual, both manuals actually. You can do it.

Re: Roku TCL 49S517 2.0 or 5.1?

5.1 or whatever is used in your stream. It is also whatever your AVR can accept. Mine does not like Dolby D+, but works well with Dolby D without plus.

FYI, HDMI ARC has better bandwidth and supports CEC. Use it. I have Yamaha RX-V. It works great except DD+. It turns on and off together with Tv. I am very happy.

Huh? This demonstrates that the video card in your (or not your) computer has hard time supporting 4K monitor. Which video card is that?

Have you tried downshifting ARC protocol? Deselect Autodetect and use something less than Dolby D+ in Settings > Audio > HDMI ARC and S/PDIF. Dolby D (without plus) might work better.

You should complain to Reuters too. They created the channel. It is possible they can fix the issue on their end.

Let's calm down unless you can confirm that you received 8.2.0 build 4170-30 and still have issues.

Re: [Official] Roku OS 8.2

Indeed the volume between the broadcast and streaming is more leveled now. Wake-on-LAN also works again even with Fast Start disabled so I can turn the TV on from the app.

This is a good version so it seems.

Re: [Official] Roku OS 8.2

The fact that everything works as expected in DD, DTS (no +) mode, tells me its a Roku software implementation issue. Oh well, maybe next update. What is your AV receiver model? My Yamaha rx-v575 hates DD+ but works with DD too. It drops DD+ every time I switch TV input or stream. I can force new h...

You clearly know what you are talking about. Yet you complain about Pioneer's incompatible CEC implementation to a wrong party.

Re: TCL Roku TV / receiver CEC issue

Have you tried downgrading Settings / Audio / SPDIF and ARC to something less than Dolby D+ or Autodetect?
