Re: TCL Roku TV / receiver CEC issue

It does not look like your receiver supports HDMI ARC connection and CEC won't work for you. If I am wrong and your receiver has ARC feature, then use ARC instead of optical and play with ARC audio connection protocol: switch to something less than Autodetect or Dolby D+.

Re: Audio issues

... and as a workaround you might need to disable Dolby D+, by selecting something other than Autodetect or Dolby D+ in Settings > Audio > HDMI ARC and S/PDIF.

Re: HDMI ARC handshake issues

On TCL 55R617, only HDMI3 supports ARC. Choose whatever format works for you but do not descend to PCM-Stereo just yet. Your Yamaha receiver will display AV4 when ARC when and if everything works.

Re: HDMI ARC handshake issues

1. Connect HDMI (ARC) IN on you TV with HDMI (ARC) OUT on your receiver. Do not use optical cable. 2. Go to Settings > System > Control other devices (CEC) and enable "HDMI ARC". 3. Go to Settings > Audio > S/PDIF and ARC and select the audio format that works for you. Even though "Au...

Lucky me, I have Roku TV so shutting TV down means that the streaming is down too.

Re: Roku is eating up Bandwidth

Make sure your neighbors are not using your WIFI - only use WPA2. If this is not the issue, do tell us how many hours per day you stream, don't be shy.

Re: How to connect a Roku TV to a receiver using HDMI cable

It's great that you have an example of the connection working perfectly. I am running a Yamaha RXV677. High-speed HDMI cable, port4 in receiver port 3 in TCL R55615. All settings are correct and it still does not produce sound. The remote does control the TV as well as the receiver but no sound. Vi...

No. You can only browse the programming guide with your current TV channel in the background.

Re: Roku media player can't display photos in correct orientation

It is natural for any digital camera to record sensor pixels in fixed order and then use EXIF to specify orientation. Supporting EXIF is a good idea. If Roku Media Player is arrogant about EXIF, it must be fixed.

Re: ARC Audio

I assume that you read manuals and enabled ARC on both devices. I assume that your tv recognized the amp. You saw such message, right? I just sssume that you know what you are doing because your description says that you inserted the cable and wanted everything magically work. The world I a little m...

Re: How to connect a Roku TV to a receiver using HDMI cable

For the sake of completeness, do share the model numbers of your TV and the receiver. Does your receiver even support HDMI/ARC? We should be able to check it online.

Re: How to connect a Roku TV to a receiver using HDMI cable

My Yamaha RX-V575 supports Dolby D+ on paper too. In practice, when connected to TCL Roku TV 49S405, audio signal drops each time video steam switches to a commercial, for example. I had to switch the receiver input to something else and back to AV4 to reestablish audio. I do not have sound on power...

Re: How to connect a Roku TV to a receiver using HDMI cable

I would appreciate if Roku developers on this forum at least acknowledge the problem. I have been volunteering at least half a year on this forum helping people to resolve the issue with ARC connection from Roku TV to Yamaha receivers. All I hear from Roku is crickets. Perhaps, they can update the R...

If you cannot describe your problem, nobody can help you. You failed to do it in your post. Stop behaving like a baby, state your problem clearly. It is important in your day to day life too.
