Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

EnTerr wrote: Does SG just crash (no error) if existing fields are re-defined? That would be... peculiar. Actually, yes it does. Changing GuideItemData.xml to the code below causes a crash and device reboot. No errors anywhere. I actually tested that before I posted and got the results I in...

Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

Does SG just crash (no error) if existing fields are re-defined? That would be... peculiar. No, but it can cause some confusing error messages in the debug console. In the case of a fixedLayout MarkupGrid, if you explicitly define those fields in the interface of your extended ContentNode, it will ...

Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

Well.. some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I was able to reproduce it with your code. The bad news is that I can't see anything in your code that would cause it, so it's almost certainly a firmware bug of some sort. To add fuel to that fire, if you set "numRows" to 1, t...

Re: Is there a contact for Roku support for developers?

See here for a mini-explanation of how it's supposed to work: http://www.smackfu.com/stuff/programming/shoutcast.html Typically, if you want ICY metadata to be included, you'd add the "Icy-MetaData:1" header to your request to let the Shoutcast server know that you support it. It's possibl...

Re: Is there a contact for Roku support for developers?

As belltown mentioned in the thread you linked to, it is not normal for a Shoutcast server to include the ICY-Metadata unless you specifically request it. The fact that your server is sending it in every case would suggest that there's a configuration issue on your end. I think it's unlikely that co...

Re: A few YouTube videos not playing on private channel

By playback, do you mean "rewind" or play again? I mean the entire playback experience, including trick play, ad insertion, UI, analytics, etc. Remember that you're using YouTube's servers and bandwidth for free. For a small non-profit like yourself, that probably doesn't translate to muc...

Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

Would an orphaned observer persist through multiple re-exports and device reboots? I've completely removed the channel and re-run but saw the same behavior. No, definitely not. The only time I've seen this happen is when I either inadvertently registered the observer twice (e.g., in a content onCha...

Re: Can't set the port?!

Here's an example of downloading content in SceneGraph: https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/Downloading+Server+Content And here's a list of B/S components that can and can't be used in SceneGraph: https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/Scene+Graph+BrightScript+Support This indicates that roMess...

Re: Can't set the port?!

You'd need to create a Task that makes the request and observe a field on it to get the result.

Re: A few YouTube videos not playing on private channel

Thank you for the suggestion. I shall do so. Given that the YouTube channel is available on Roku, why does YouTube prohibit individuals from using selected YT videos on their own channels, in particular private, non-profit channels? Because they don't have control over the playback experience unles...

Re: Can't set the port?!

You can't create an roUrlTransfer object in the render thread. It can only be created in a Task thread.

Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

The X value is the column index, not number of pixels. Of course it is.. d'oh! One other issue: Have you ever seen an itemFocused Observer randomly start getting called twice? I only set this once in init() and I'm losing my mind trying to figure out what is going on. m.guideGrid.ObserveFiel...

Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

I'm curious about the 4. Are you really only wanting to shift the items by 4 pixels? As for the Type Mismatch, that would suggest that X on the item is invalid/not set. With that said, I was more thinking that you'd shift the whole grid over, not the individual items (i.e., change m.guideGrid.transl...

Re: How to make buttons usable?

Your code is probably crashing on this line:
if key=back

"back" should be in quotes.

Re: MarkupGrid Item Metadata with fixedLayout="true"

What about checking the x/y coordinates of the focused item and moving the grid programmatically to ensure they're in view?
