But I for one can't sit and give it a rest. ... Sorry if some of us seem like a broken record but I really don't want to have to run out and look for something else to replace my Roku. I'm not disagreeing with the gripes or concerns that you have. I have the same gripes and concerns. My issue is wi...

Would you guys please give it a rest? Reading these boards has become like listening to a broken record. We all know that an update is needed, and I'm sure there's not a single person on these boards that isn't eagerly anticipating that update. Insulting the developers and the company, however, is N...

The GodFather is another really nice mp3 manager. It has an exhaustive list of features, and will do what you're wanting to do right out of the box.

Oh! And it's free!

Thanks for the suggestions guys - still no luck however. I have ordered a 2100AP - we'll see how that goes. I'll post my results soon when I get around to it (rather busy at present). John As I recall, in order to get it to work with an access point in client mode, you'll need to use a crossover ca...

Yes, you can use one of the other memory card slots, but the CF is the fastest.

With regards to the network, the router is indeed a wireless router but both the Roku and the PowerMac are connected with ethernet cables to the ports on the router. Ok, sorry, I misunderstood that bit. Do you have access to a Windows machine (not sure if TStoATSC will work on a mac)? If so, have y...

Re: SWAP file via CF Card

1) Who needs to do this? Is it just people who do certain tasks, or is this a suggestion for ALL owners. It's not required, but a good idea for most owners. 2) I presume that this is being done using the external CF slot in the front of the HD1000, right? (just making sure there isn't an internal s...

Re: Watching Mac-recorded HDTV

I am sharing the files from the PowerMac on a SMB share over a wired network interface (using a netgear wireless router that supports 100 Mbps). This sounds like a wireless issue to me. I assume when you say "supports 100 Mbps" you mean you have a wireless-g router with "SpeedBooster" or the NetGea...

I agree, it should be totally transparent. Wireless settings on HD1000 setup menu should not come into the equation as this is only for USB based WiFi adaptors. Correct me if I'm wrong here.... No, that's exactly what I was getting at. Wasn't sure if you have messed with the wireless settings, pote...

The bridge should be transparent to the Roku. As far as it's concerned, it should think it's just being plugged into a wired network. Have you done anything with the wireless settings in the Roku? Maybe it's gotten confused...

If you've not purchased an alternative yet, it may be worth waiting a couple of weeks for the next software update (due in December according to Roku) to see if it adds WMA support.

I'm running a Windows 2003 server with Active Directory and am able to access the shares fine, so I don't think it has anything to do with AD. It may, however, have something to do with the following issue that I had when I was trying to get my Roku to recognize my Win2k3 shares: http://www.rokulabs...
