Well Endless, guess what... IT WORKED! I've now, finally, watched 2 movies in a row that worked perfectly - no skipping audio at all. We'll probably watch a movie tonight so that will be another test... So if it really is working thanks for your help! ...now on to the next thread I'll start. As part...

Ok, so, finally, for the first time, after 4 months of ownership I watched a DVD all the way through without a single problem. Endless, that seems to have done it (so far anyway). I've got Episode VI to watch next, so I'll give more feedback after that. I also want to share some thoughts I have on M...

Cool - I'll try that this afternoon when we watch Episode V - we're watching Episode IV right now and I don't want to stop...

BTW off topic - if you haven't seen Episode III yet it's AMAZING. Lucas did a great job joing it to Episode IV - it's great!

Endless, Thanks for that link - I will try that as my test has failed. We tried watching both Star Wars episodes I and II yesterday - within 2 minutes of it starting the audio dropped and started skipping - totally out of sync. I didn't play with it much as I just wanted to watch the movies so I swi...

One last try...

Ok Endless, you get your way. I'm going to give this one more go. I'm the one that started the "So close yet so far away" thread: http://www.rokulabs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4887 I tried setting up a swap file and ran MPlay off my CF card rather than over the network (I was sure I'd setup the swa...

Endless, While I appreciate that, I'm not looking for a pat on the back. Doesn't the fact that 3rd party apps are available and possible count as a positive for the Roku? As far as I know, no other product on the market in the same category has the same level of extensibility as the PhotoBridge. As ...

I have to agree with strang2112 - I don't know that I'd go so far to call this fraud - but they (Roku) ceratinly aren'te being honest with us. As I said before they should have called this thing a "reference platform for development" and we would all have known what we were getting in to. Have you g...

Endless, Let me be clear about what we're all bitching about. - I have asked for help many times - see my posts - I too am a software engineer - I actually run an open source project too so I know how to hack and make things work - Roku's support is TERRIBLE - Your support, and the ...

Well I had no idea I's inspire such a thread. I am glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I also have to second ngregory - Roku does it fact claim that is will do all these things that we want it to do. I'll also second him that I love to play with stuff - I have MANY pieces of AV gear that I love ...

Barry, I'm very glad you love your PB - I really wanted to love mine. As for how you're using it - that sounds great - exactly what I want. My experience has been completely the opposite. You ask what I'm asking for my PB? Not sure yet - gonna put it up on eBay. Obviously I'd rather sell it around e...

So close, yet so far away...

So I'm really not trying to post flame bait here, I just wanted to let Roku know about a few issues that I've been having since I got my PB HD1000 4 months ago. When I got it I play with it a lot trying to get everything working. After 2 months of this I stopped. The short reason - nothing ever work...

Strange skipping issue...

So I've got a very strange skipping issue. Here's the deal. If I rip DVD's to the HD on my PC they stream perfectly (using the latest MPlay). Never any issues. If I put a DVD in my PC DVD-Rom drive they stream fine, again never any issues. The issue is this. I've been ripping Star Trek DVD's using D...

Any word on a fix guys? I really love my HD1000 but rebooting it daily so it can work kinda sucks :-(

Thanks,

Ross
