Never heard of one (not sure the base version of Linux has the necessary rendering engine). Not at all convinced the PB's CPU has enough horsepower for something like this... :(

Has anyone tried XBMC?

I haven't personally, because HD output is still in status "Experimental, unfinished, unstable, buggy and/or limited". Plus, don't you have to modify the hardware in order for it to work?

There's several threads here about XBMC though.

I still use mine. In fact, I just had the power supplies in BOTH repaired by Pyramid Audio. I've tried a myriad of products. I've got a PS3 sitting beside the Roku, but for playback of video streamed from my storage servers, still nothing comes close to Mplay and the Roku. I'm in the market now for ...

Well dang, that was quick. I didn't even think of scripts and ecp commands to do this (not that I could have, but...).

I'll give it a whirl tomorrow!

Video Jukebox

Endless/Marcello, Now that my two Roku's are repaired and on their way back to me, I'd like to know if you guys would consider developing an extension of MPlay (or new app?) that allows one to point the app at a particular shared folder that contains video clips and it randomly chooses and plays the...

Is this the TVPLAY that comes with the Diginet USB2.0 hdtv box using the cypress drivers.

It's not.
This is application that runs on a Roku PhotoBridge giving you control of the output of a HDHomeRun HDTV tuner device.

I have had varying degrees of success with letting VLC auto-detect the input frame rate, so I generally find out in advance and then set that manually too.

I love mine. I have two Rev B's. I find that now that both have fried their insides (and are enroute to Pyramid) I really miss them. I've looked at every alternative. Nothing on the market short of building a Home Theater PC fills the bill IMHO. But my needs are very different from yours. I rarely u...

Re: Converting 1080 HD WMA video to Mpeg2 TS for playback on

Does any know how to convert (transcode) wma file (HD) to something the HD1000 can play. I have transcoded some AVI files using VLC but it is not HD (1080). VLC >WILL< do it. It >IS< bitrate limited though to 15360 for video. Just type 15360 into the video drop-down box, set your other options, and...

I see what you are asking now. I have a 16:9 720p LCD RPTV. I played some 2.35:1 content (SW Ep 1, SW Ep2). I paused the playback and toggled through the zoom modes. Mplay Zoom mode 0 it is "proper" in aspect and has black bars top and bottom. Mplay zoom mode 3 it is "stretched" ...
