Re: Roku Ultra stuck on bouncing logo

It sounds like a defective unit; you should try to return it. It won't show up on the network until it gets past the bouncing logo. Check to see if there's a microSD card installed (probably not, but since it's "refurbished" the last user may have left one in it). If there is, remove it. -JT

Re: upload zip with screen saver active causes lockup

I was getting lock-ups and/or reboots (I think it started with fw v8.x or v9.x), so I used to try to remember to press Home on the remote a couple of times before uploading.  I finally just added a few ECP key presses to my Windows batch file I use to upload.  I think I still get occasional reboots ...

Re: Roku 3 remote all of a sudden needs frequent resets

If it's WiFi then, is there a way for me to know which band it's using? You can see what channel it's using from the "Wireless Secret Screen" accessed from the "Platform Secret Screen".  Press Home 5x, FF, Play, Rew, Play, FF I believe if you're using a wired Ethernet connection...

Re: Roku's USB to ESP8266 NodeMCU to Get '/query/...'

You might want to post in the developer forum .  You don't have to be a developer.  You may be more likely to get help with javascript there.  If ECP commands are working and you're able to fetch /query/apps in a browser, I'd guess it has something to do with the code.  Also, as atc98092 said, doubl...

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP

I received information that it will be fixed in the firmware, but no time frame. The code is/was in github, but it's probably (definitely) out of date. Modifying the code is trivial; it's updating the channel that could be a problem. I've got so many experimental versions of the client and server co...

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP

Yep, but that doesn't mean they should break it. The whole video player and its events has been deprecated, but that only means you shouldn't use it going forward. It's NOT ok to change its behavior!

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP

I just updated to build 4142 and guess what? - progress doesn't work properly anymore.  Thanks Roku. grr  My Roku still on build 4084 works just fine.  As I suspected, they're no longer firing the "isFullResult" message so the last playback position received (which should be within 10 seco...

Re: Overheating

I can't say why it might cause overheating, but I'd try the power adapter that came with the Express rather than using the USB port on your TV.

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP

What version of firmware (with build number) does your device have? The client looks for the "isFullResult" message from the firmware to indicate the video completed. I wouldn't think Roku would be mucking with the video player anymore since that component has been deprecated, but who know...

Re: Roku's USB to ESP8266 NodeMCU to Get '/query/...'

It seems unlikely that Roku would block access to /query/apps since isn't that how all remote control apps get the list of installed channels/apps?  They'd all stop functioning. gregoryscott, are your ESP8266 nodeMCU and Roku on the same network? For example, you said your Roku's IP is 192.168.1.xxx...

Re: Roku's USB to ESP8266 NodeMCU to Get '/query/...'

can I access Roku data as used to be provided by ECP queries like '/query/apps' and '/query/active-app' via the Roku's USB port? I'm not sure what you're asking here.  Are you saying that previously you could access the data via the USB port and you can't now?  If so, I didn't know that was ever po...

Re: ToISOString() return wrong date time

There is no solution. The box doesn't have a battery backed-up RTC. I doesn't know the correct date/time until it establishes an Internet connection and contacts an NTP server. If your app can't operate without the correct time, you either have to wait for Internet connection to be established or ex...
