Re: Video "gets stuck" when loading on roVideoScreen

Nothing wrong with the bitrate per se, you might want to have a few bitrates of the same video, store in an array so roku can auto-switch.

Re: Video "gets stuck" when loading on roVideoScreen

There's nothing wrong with that file as far as I can see, tossed it into an existing project and it plays on my Roku. Might want to set the bit rate in your aa_video.bitrate to the bitrate or to 0 also, it should be video.StreamQualities not video.Qualities, I think. Also, that is a very high bitrat...

Re: Remove Icon Borders

It is possible with roScreen on Roku2 and beta OS3.0 to create your own very nice UI that looks the way you want it to.

Re: What Type Of Screen is "Settings"?

for Roku2 and the hopefully soon-to-be-released 3.0 firmware, you can do that with roScreen if you want a slick smooth interface like that.

RoImage canvas will give you a kind of clunky interface, even if it looks good, it won't perform very well.

Re: Overlay two PNG files

You can even do it on the same layer:

canv.setlayer(2,[imageone,imagetwo])

if one of your png's has transparency. You might have to switch up the order of the images, so the transparent one draws after the non-transparent.

Re: SubsonicTV - Streaming Local Media Channel Available

I'm setting it up in Windows...using port 4040 because I had problems with port 80. I can get the demo to work...but otherwise it won't work. I've gone through all the troubleshooting they want me to do and nothing is working....just frustrating! Where did you find that does the hosting? Hi Tbbycat...

Re: XML with a URL Containing an Ampersand Character

By "trying to choose the feed", what does that mean? If it means what I think it does, then just do another replace to put the ampersands back in when you do a url transfer using that string.

Re: sideloading multiple apps

No, unfortunately it doesn't work that way. You could publish as private channels for your own testing, that way you'll have multiple channels on one box.

Re: roAudioPlayer and current item

Another approach which I use is to create a global roaudioplayer, which you can use with any port, and store now-playing info in global variables, and a single audio event handler which you can call from any function on an audioplayer event, so you can track the current state from anywhere.

Re: hls over https not working

Are you able to connect and retrieve anything from the server using roUrlTransfer?

See if you can make an ssl connection that way first, then try to make it work with the video component.

Re: Playing Picture in Picture in Roku

You could put a representative thumbnail as the pip placeholder, and update the thumbnail every 50 ms or so on the server & reload it on the roku every 100-150 ms (image canvas updates pretty slow)
