Seems like this will eventually happen to anybody that doesn't keep their PB in the fridge. Maybe Roku should put in the manual that the ambient temperature must by 50 degrees or below because their case design is so crappy. Nothing else gets hot in my well-ventilated rack, but mine burned-out a cou...

The PB upscales all output to whatever you have set in the video options (480p, 720p, 1080i, etc.) I agree that it looks nice. Running tests against my DVD player, the PB still looked better even when the video was compressed 25% by DVDShrink.

The easiest way... 1.) Download Swap program from Roku http://www.rokulabs.com/support/downloads/Swap.roku 2.) Copy swap program onto a 128MB or larger compact flash card 3.) Insert compact flash card into Roku 4.) Run Swap program on Roku via the user interface It may take a few minutes before the ...

Just used DVD Blanker (similar in some ways to DVDDecrypter) in conjunction with the latest version of AnyDVD last night to rip a difficult DVD. Worked like a charm.

In my opinion, the two best ones are DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink. I use DVDShrink for 98% of my DVDs. For the few that require more "intervention", I rip the whole DVD with DVDDecrypter and then use DVDShrink on that. The extra DVDShrink step is mainly because the interface is much easier, and I want...

Mine has been sitting at Roku waiting to have the power supply replaced for a week. I'm not thinking that I should have it back already or anything, but I was expecting them to call for my credit card information in order to pay the $50 service fee.

Re: Use model for playing DRM WMA (subscription) on Photobri

Could someone from Roku please indicate as to whether support for protected WMA is "on the the list" for the Photobridge? Since the subscription model is being supported by so many of the music services, this is an important question that deserves an answer from Roku. They have posted on this subje...

You are correct. People have had more success using a wireless bridge, though, and avoiding the USB port all-together.

I've watched HD stuff off of a 1GB Ultra 2 compact flash with no issues. As long as the movie will fit in 5GB, you should be fine. I would still use MPlay to watch it.

Add me to the list. Mine died last night. I've had it for roughly 14-15 months. Up until this point, I was pretty happy with the unit.

Your concerns make sense. It just seemed from the initial post that you were trying to insinuate that the Roku was finished in the sense that it is no longer a viable product being supported by the manufacturer simply because RokuAnthony wrote that it was "finished". He obviously didn't mean that. I...

The easiest thing is to create the file with your PC, put the correct content in, and save it with whatever name you like on the CF card. Then, put the card in the Roku and use the steps mentioned here to simply rename it. The only thing you can't do for this process with Windows is add a "." to the...
