Re: Audio Drop-outs with Roku Premiere+ / v9.0

I'm not seeing that behavior on my P+ v9.  I'd suggest rebooting it, for starters, and try a different HDMI cable.

Re: HDR Not working

It's not the same receiver, but my Pioneer Elite VSX-45 and Roku Premiere + work fine in HDR mode.

Re: Roku Auto Volume Leveling vs TV & Audio Receivers option.

I'd go with the AVRs leveling functionality, myself. Auto-leveling on the Roku switches to 2-channel stereo, right? Why use auto leveling at all? It doesn't make sense to use it if you've gone to the expense and trouble of buying a nice AVR system. Using the function will kill whatever dynamic rang...

Re: Dolby Digital/ 5.1 surround sound audio

Netflix is Dolby Digital Plus (+),  not standard Dolby Digital. Additionally, Dolby Digital Plus carries too much data to be output on optical. It needs HDMI.  So, you will get stereo-only over optical with Netflix. You would need a 2016-version of the Roku Ultra that had the ability to convert Dol...

Re: 55S401 major audio delay issues...even when using an AVR! What is going on?!

The specs for this tv says it passes through Dolby Digital Plus, and actually processes Dolby Digital (probably for transcoding DD+ via Optical).   TCL Specs You could test that processing theory by setting the Roku TV for Dolby Digital (not Plus) and see if you get transcoded Netflix in standard D...

Re: 55S401 major audio delay issues...even when using an AVR! What is going on?!

What's the actual make/model of the Roku TV?   And note: I know you don't want to hear this, but it's not really a "Roku" issue. It's the TV's manufacturer (e.g. TCL), since it's undoubtedly their processing that's affecting the audio - particularly as you said it happens on other externa...

Re: 55S401 major audio delay issues...even when using an AVR! What is going on?!

Yeah, I stand corrected - looks like it's the Roku OS that does the system updating here.  And I see you've been elsewhere looking for answers (AVS, Reddit, etc.). Looks like other Roku TV owners have experienced this issue. Did you do a factory reset on this TV? Or, did you do the less-intrusive au...

Re: Roku OS 9 / Dolby fail?

My problem is different. I have 2 Roku Premiere Plus devices plugged into Pioneer Elite receivers via HDMI. While streaming episodes of Dr. Who from Amazon Prime, I noticed some of the audio appeared to be missing (mostly sound effects). I verified this by forcing the Roku into stereo mode, and the...

Re: Roku OS 9 / Dolby fail?

I have a Premiere + running OS 9.00 4084-29. I don't have any issues at all with surround sound. I get Dolby Digital + in Netflix as normal.

Perhaps this is just an "Ultra" problem?

Re: Samsung soundbar makes popping noise and shuts down with Roku Ultra

I'm not trying to be difficult here, and I don't like mysteries. But I'm not seeing the causality. The Roku is not connected directly to the soundbar. How could it affect what gets sent to the soundbar that's wireless? The PROT! message usually (from what I read) is a protection function of the soun...
