Re: Samsung soundbar makes popping noise and shuts down with Roku Ultra

I'm not trying to be difficult here, and I don't like mysteries. But I'm not seeing the causality. The Roku is not connected directly to the soundbar. How could it affect what gets sent to the soundbar that's wireless? The PROT! message usually (from what I read) is a protection function of the soun...

Re: Samsung soundbar makes popping noise and shuts down with Roku Ultra

Everything I've read about that PROT! message indicates a problem with the soundbar, itself.  Have you tried the Ultra in a different HDMI input to see if that makes a difference?

Re: Does Roku TV work well with an AV receiver?

What is your current setup where you are getting the 200ms lag? Are you connecting from the TV to some outboard speakers? You're not saying the TV speakers, themselves, are audio-delayed, are you? If your TV is the only audio source (whether it's the built-in Roku or whatever else you're watching on...

Re: Spamalicious

As I mentioned in a previous thread about this problem, there is an anti-spam product for this type of forum (phpBB). Here's the cut/paste from my post in the other thread: There is at least one solution. This is a phpBB-based software forum. I alerted them to this once before (never heard back&...

Re: Entire forum spammed!

There is at least one solution. This is a phpBB-based software forum. I alerted them to this once before (never heard back), but there's a program called CleanTalk that's made for this type of forum software:  https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/antispam_by_cleantalk/

Re: Hisense Roku TV low volume after 8.1 update

A little late on my comment, of course, but perhaps in the future there might be a better way to provide account info without having to expose an email address on a public forum. I'm thinking a link to a form that would obviously have to be created by the web team for a particular purpose. Just a th...

Re: ROKU 4660R HDR vs Dolby Vision

I don't know of any AVR or display that supports DV that doesn't also support HDR10. Looking at the Denon web site, I don't see DV listed as supported by your receiver. But it does state that it has full HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0a support, so I believe it has HDR support without a problem. (Note: Looks...

Re: Intermitent audio after 8.1 upgrade

Its unbelievable that ROKU has still not fixed this ! Roku has lost me as a customer after many, many years. I'm going to buy an Apple 4k today and never look back. Forced updates that are broken with no way to roll back ..... one month after acknowledgement and problem is still not fixed ??? Reall...

Re: Broken Roku Ultra? Why does everything downmix to PCM stereo??

I don't know if this is by design, but my Roku Premiere + was outputting stereo-only after I had switched it to Night Listening mode. Once I switched it back, the DD+ came back normally. Wondering if the Ultra bug somehow had something to do with that toggle (internally).

Re: No more 5.1 Sound -Ultra Stopped Supporting Dolby D

Hi, I'm afraid the the latest update has *caused* this problem for me. I think I've read this thread carefully so that I'm not missing something obvious. I have a Roku Ultra 4640X, with optical audio out going to an Onkyo receiver that doesn't have HDMI in, so that's not an option. As of the latest...

Re: Roku Ultra out of sync on Amazon

Someone on another thread on this same subject said the following might be a temporary workaround:

And for an update to the syncing issue.........it seems if I FF then REW then allow the video to play the sound and video are synced up normally.

Re: Roku 4k/HDR content streaming crashes on LG c7p

I have an older post that explains this - at least on some LG TVs. The "fix" is to set the HDR "subsampling" to 4:2:0 vs. the default 4:2:2 that normally comes up. When set to 4:2:0, you should be able to get 4K HDR. Go into this menu: System -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanc...

Re: XBox 1 S and X To Get Dolby Vision HDR Via Firmware Update

Those boxes have far more processing power than any Roku, so we have no idea if it is possible in a Roku via software.  Here's a box from 2016 with the same ARM Cortex 53 Quad-Core processor as Ultra that says it supports Dolby Vision: https://www.cnx-software.com/2016/03/30/himedia-q10-pro-android...

XBox 1 S and X To Get Dolby Vision HDR Via Firmware Update

In another example that Dolby Vision can be implemented via software, it's coming to Xbox 1 S and X models (Netlfix only, to start).   Link:   Dolby Vision / Xbox 1 More info on Dolby Vision via software/firmware: Until CES 2017, it was widely assumed that Dolby Vision hardware (screens and Ultra HD...
