Re: Nowhere TV

RokuChris - The Guild (Geek & Sundry) season 6 started on Oct 2. Any chance you plan to update the channel to reflect this? So far, S06E01 and bonus for that episode has been released. Also, would you please consider adding UWTV to Education & Culture (see http://www.uwtv.org/services/distri...

Re: koldcast trouble

If it's only happening on the Roku 2, as the OP suggested, then it's not likely the developer can do anything about it until Roku sorts everything out on their end. It does appear to only be happening on the Roku 2. It works fine on my Roku XD and XD/S but not on my Roku 2 XS. Let's hope things get...

I would second that -- great idea!

Re: YouTube

That's why I'm in this quandary about what control Roku has over your box. If the software is the property of Roku or its suppliers, wouldn't that mean that Roku is obligated to delete the channel from the box per Google's Terms of Service? I'm no lawyer, so I could be completely wrong, but here's ...

Re: YouTube

This actually supports where I'm coming from. If Google doesn't want you to have the YouTube channel on your Roku, then they will need to request that you remove it. They can't request that Roku forcefully remove software from the device that you own. This is a point where I am confused so I would ...

Re: YouTube

So lets all go and contact Youtube and Roku as much as possible and point out that the channel still works and ask if they are going to pull it,then lets write articles and post them online pointing out that the channel still works and wonder if they will pull it. Maybe then they will pull it. It's...

Re: YouTube

Roku pulling it from your box would be the equivalent of some other software vendor uninstalling software from your home computer, because they got a copyright complaint. It's not going to happen, nor is it Roku's responsibility to make it happens. Their only responsibility is to make sure they're ...

Re: YouTube

They'll never touch your box directly. If you uninstall it, you won't be able to add it back, but they'll never forcefully uninstall something from your box. They've either directly confirmed that, or it's been confirmed by precedent with other pulled channels. I couldn't find anything by searching...

Re: YouTube

You do understand that it's not a problem if you've already got the channel installed on your box, right? It won't get removed unless you specifically remove it, or factory reset the box. Has Roku confirmed that they won't pull the plug on the channel altogether? If so, would you please post a link...

Re: YouTube

I will not be distributing the channel source code. The content provider has made their wishes clear and I will respect that, which is exactly what I said I would do a year ago should the current situation ever come to pass. While I really like the YouTube channel and will miss it greatly, I have a...

Re: Nowhere TV

I hope you will consider adding NFB. RokuChris -- Thank you very much for adding it! Woo hoo! It's so nice to be able to watch their videos from my Roku. Would you be willing to consider adding award-nominated Feed Me Bubbe from Chalutz Productions to either Home & Garden or Spirituality? Assum...

Re: Nowhere TV

Most of that is not compatible. The NFB stuff looks like a fun addition though. And the YouTube stuff can be watched with the YouTube channel. Well rats! I was afraid of that. I actually do watch the ones available on YouTube through the YouTube channel. That's how I used to watch Earth-Touch and F...

I've really been enjoying Nowhere TV and was very excited to see the integration with EyeTV. I'm eager to get that setup! It will make a nice addition to my household media servers setup. Thank you! If you take content requests, would you please consider adding any of the following feeds, assuming t...

Re: New Amazon Subscription Service?

If a subscription to video comes with a Prime Membership, I'll sign up otherwise I won't. I spent less on standard shipping costs over the past two years than the cost of a Prime Membership so without video, it isn't worth it to me. I usually try to purchase from other organizations than Amazon. My...

Re: Anyone else getting Roku Invoice emails.

Where are coming up with this? That scenario is impossible in our channel store system. If a channel developer decides to switch their channel from free to subscription/purchase, it would require the developer to submit an entirely new channel, separate from the free version. Thank goodness! I thou...
