Re: For those wanting a web browser on the Roku. Now possibl

I understand all of that, but I still don't understand how they're that much different from Netflix, except that they actually derive ad revenue. How disheartening must it be to have this potentially hugely popular product, and have to block viewership instead of embrace it, when that's the busines...

http://netflix.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=398 ... Programming under the deal includes prior-season series across multiple NBCU networks, including NBC hits "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Parenthood." All future seasons of these shows will be available on Netfl...

Re: For those wanting a web browser on the Roku. Now possibl

"these companies" don't have a choice. The content owners/providers license the rights to the various sites with the stipulation that the content can only be viewed on certain devices. It's up to the site to enforce those restrictions, per their licensing agreement, so they don't have the...

Re: For those wanting a web browser on the Roku. Now possibl

OK, I'll bite... Won't this just be another way to access content that is not supposed to be accessible apart from a computer? How are Hulu or CBS.com going to be OK with this? I have to imagine that, as the lines continue to blur in what a "computer" is, these companies will get tired of...

Re: Constantly reloading netflix movies AAARRRGG!

Because at this point, I am seriously considering returning the Roku XD for a refund, and putting a little more with it to get a Wii, which will not only do a better job of streaming Netflix, but also play games. You should be aware that the Wii doesn't support HD resolutions, so you'll be limited ...

Re: Roku and LCD computer monitor – Again!

Is it because of power line glitches or RF interference (or both)? I had seen that happen with my iMAC - once the treadmill starts the iMAC will jump around and you couldn't control it with mouse. Once I setup clean power, the issue went away. Didn't realize that wireless will get affected as well....

What is your setup? Do you have the Roku plugged directly into the tv via HDMI or...?

For a while, YouTube was the only place to view 1080p content via the Roku.

Re: Roku or X-box 360?

Thought of a feature that I may use in the future on the Roku, MLB.tv. $20 a month is a pretty good deal for baseball, especially if your team is good. I'm waiting until September and if my Mariners are still in the hunt I will probably spring for it. Of course they likely won't be, thanks for savi...

Re: Adding Rokus- what's your experience?

I have three Rokus... an XD-HR which was top-of-the-line then, and two XDS. It would be difficult to go backwards, I think. The remote from the XD-HR doesn't have the INFO button, and it seems that it is always THAT Roku that I want channel info! The remotes all work with any model, so you c...

Re: Loss of sound while playing/pausing

Just to add to this, Onkyo receivers seem to have HDMI handshake issues with a lot of devices, not just the Roku. You might want to try googling to see if others with Onkyo receivers have solutions for this kind of problem.

Re: connecting Roku

From your other post, it sounds like you have two routers? Linksys E2000 and something (maybe that) running WRT?

Or maybe you do have a Roku E2000, and I'm just unfamiliar with that model number. Where and when did you get it?
