BIF Files, DP Preview

Helo all: Moving this to a new thread. Can anyone confirm (Roku included) that BIF files actually play in DP created channels?  I've created complaint JSON with 2 different apps and BIF files still do not show up during REW/FFWD, although they appear fine in my API built channel. Lastly, is the Prev...

Re: No Idea What I'm Doing

I'm trying to import a previously generated JSON file to make changes to it. It's the one I'm currently using for my DP Roku channel, and it's passed the feed status verification.

Re: No Idea What I'm Doing

ERROR: cannot deserialize the current JSON object (e.g.{"name":"value"{) into type "RokuJsonFeedManager.TrickPlayFilesObject[] because the type requires a JSON array.

Let me know if we should take this to a different thread or forum.

Thanks!

Re: No Idea What I'm Doing

Downloaded the demo, and I see the fields for BIF and CC.  Impressive!  And yes, an import function would be phenomenal (perhaps reading an existing JSON feed).

Re: No Idea What I'm Doing

mitchstein:  The first release of the software does not have an import feature.  However, I just branched the source to start working on the next release of the software.  I can certainly look into adding an import function. I'm looking at the screenshot for the JSON Feed Manager.   http://www.roku...

That's encouraging...thanks.
Anyone else?

BIF and SRT/VTT support?

Hello all: Has anyone had any luck with channels using Direct Publisher being able to display BIF files or CC files (SRT or VTT)? I ingest them fine via FEED STATUS, and all of the files have correct R/W permissions (housed in the same place as the media and image files). I've tried housing them on ...

Re: Direct Publisher update blackout?

Is your channel published or unpublished? Mine is unpublished.  I can refresh the feed status manually, and I can see the changes in the Preview pane on the dev site, but the channel doesn't update.  I'm using SON, too.  So, this tells me the hangup is between the roku servers and my roku unit....wh...

Re: Direct Publisher update blackout?

I'm running into this, too.

Making updates to an unpublished Direct Publisher channel, and although I can see the updates in in Preview pane (sort of, it's always been wonky) on the dev site,  the channel, is not updating ... it usually happens almost instantly.

Re: Word press problems

Hey Rob: YOU CAN?!  I know you had mentioned it would be available, but the GUI seemed to suggest I had to upload a file for trick play or CC file...not that I could paste an external URL in.  Awesome. My host is Host Duplex; who have bene excellent over the past few years. I presumed the jetpack pl...

Re: Word press problems

In version 1.4 (coming later this week) I'm including  a button so you can download a JSON feed file, then use it on one of the free services that host JSON files.   This should clear up a lot of the issues with shared hosting blocking the feed from being processed. Hey Rob: Wouldn't that still be ...

Re: Streaming from private server with Direct Publisher

Stream content from a private network to a public network?   Unless the user is VPNed in, no...or, your network is setup to route traffic JUST TO the server that is serving up the media (a "tunnel").  Your firewall can be configured to allow traffic on that port. Thats alot of work for a D...
