Re: Control channels from app without TV?

As a POC I just installed Pandora on my phone (Moto X / Lollipop) and it works. I think I can cast anything from my phone to the Roku.

Re: Roku 3 Audio in S*L*O*W M*O*T*I*O*N

However, from what I know, Panny TV + Onkyo avr sometimes don’t play nice & that’s not only w/roku, Thanks for the reply and the links. However we have actually experienced this issue more frequently on the Roku 3 that is direct connected to a Sharp LCD using only stereo than we have the one wi...

Re: Control channels from app without TV?

I don't have Pandora on my phone but I just tested with Subsonic and Podcast Addict and it looks like you can accomplish this by running the app on the phone and casting the screen to the Roku.

Re: Roku 3 Audio in S*L*O*W M*O*T*I*O*N

It took me a little over a week to get around to finding the software version on my box and I apologize for that. I assume that is why this still hasn't been addressed. I could not figure out where to find the version of the channel, I checked via the options menu while in the channel and in my onli...

Re: Roku 3 Audio in S*L*O*W M*O*T*I*O*N

I think it's more than a little disingenuous to lambast the last poster for a lack of info when this 5 page thread and the other 4 threads about this issue are LOADED with details on the issue. I have experienced this issue on one of my Rokus a few times. Last night I experienced it on the other one...

Re: Roku 3 Audio in S*L*O*W M*O*T*I*O*N

I'll add my name to the list of users experiencing this issue. I have two Roku 3's now after a succession of previous models. The one that is exhibiting the problem is the one with the dead-simple hookup. It's set to Stereo sound and is hooked up via HDMI to a Sharp LCD32D50U (almost 7 years old) fr...

new regulations went in effect limiting what can be sent over unsecure channels. That's also why the Roku2 lost component connections IIRC

Do you have any links to these new regulations? I can't find them.

Re: Can't use HDMI & Composite Simultaneously

Most of these rules come out of the DMCA. This is the first I've heard of a restriction on a non-digital connection. My FIOS cable boxes, with a pretty recent firmware upgrade, still have all four connections (Video - HDMI, Component, S-Video, Composite and Audio - HDMI, Digital/Optical, Digital/Coa...

All of which explains why, in my opinion, if you are a fan of your local major sports teams you are a terrible candidate for a cable-cutter.

Re: Streaming DLNA

Why DLNA when you can use Plex? That should take care of all your local streaming needs. There is a plex channel as well as a plexbeta channel. DLNA is a standard supported by many devices both as clients and servers (including low power, always on routers and NAS devices). Plex, not so much. I've ...

Why wouldn't you just create a DHCP reservation for it?
