Re: WHAT DO I NEED?

We are going to purchase a Roku2 sx but I need more information before doing anything. Can I cancel my cable service and use only Roku or do I still need cable for local channels or any unforeseen items Rolu doesn't have. We really want to reduce our cable bill and hope Rpku will do it. Thanks smcc...

Re: Calendar Channel?

Received an update from Ryan:

Got caught up with some other projects and this one is actually pending some changes from the Roku dev team. It's not ready for a beta release until those firmware quirks get worked out. I'm in contact with the Roku dev team and working on getting them resolved.

Re: question about kids chanel like disney, ameba, babyfirsttv

Ameba is $3.99 a month, but I think the first week or two is free so that you can do a trial. We initially had a lot of issues with Ameba, but it's been behaving lately, it has around 65 different shows, a lot of which seem to be Canadian. Some are multiple episodes, such as Daniel Cook which is 12...

That would be a request to make to Netflix.Roku does not make the channels.

While that's true, I would hope that Roku have some method of communication with Netflix that has more 'weight' than you or I emailing netflix.

Re: Calendar Channel?

Ryan sent a list of questions to people that offered to beta test in late May, but I've heard nothing since then. I'll send him an email, see if he's still working on it.

Re: roksbox -Streaming Local Media Channel Available for Tes

Congrats aeroengy, we use Roksbox a LOT for all our kids movies, it probably gets as much use as Netflix. Hey WilDD, will there ever be a way to group episodes of a tv show, something maybe similar to track listings of an album so that you see all the episodes at once and select the one to play? I ...

Re: roksbox -Streaming Local Media Channel Available for Tes

I will probably setup the xml option later which seems like it would look a lot nicer in Roksbox. I don't think using xml changes how Roksbox looks, it just gives you more flexibility in organizing your videos. Using folders you can still use artwork files for each video, you can create nfo files f...

Re: roksbox -Streaming Local Media Channel Available for Tes

I am guessing there is some setting I have to enable to turn on directory listing ... but I don't know how to do that. EDIT: I found some PHP script examples that will create a directory listing. See this link: http://www.the-art-of-web.com/php/dirlist/ However, I don't know if it would be compatib...

Is anyone having a problem viewing the FoxNews.com "Live" feed this morning (Friday, November 11th)? The site seemingly loads, then goes to a black screen. I have a Roku2 XS. Thanks! Stephen Metairie, LA I was getting a black screen earlier today, now trying to play the live stream just k...

so I click on the link to check it out and it says "not available at this time" -- one has to wonder if it will ever be available or is this a bait and switch for Christmas shoppers -- I dislike deceitful marketing and dislike wal-mart even more I doubt that Walmart would do that, this of...

Are you trying to compare all the cheap media streamers? if so I'd include the LG ST600, Frys have it on sale for $49.99 every couple of weeks, it has Netflix, Hulu Plus Amazon, Vudu, Cinemanow, pandora, Youtube, a web broswer and DNLA. Sony also had refurb SMP-100's for sale for $35 shipped last we...

Re: Might buy a Roku-Need your input

What exactly are the problems you're having with netflix? If you're having network/router issues then trying to stream 720p or 1080p content to a Roku is only going to result in the same problems. Where's your router? is it an option to move it next to the wii or move the wii next to it, to see if r...

Ok, I signed up and it worked fine earlier today, now we keep getting the error 'Oops we seem to have misplaced that one', and that's just when trying to browse titles.
