Re: Green screen

So did Roku finally admit that it's an issue with the box, because magically my Samsung tv never has the issue with my Roku 2, only the Roku 1's. I think that they said there is an issue with Samsung TV's, but wouldn't that make it an issue with the TV as long as the Roku box is using the correct H...

Re: Fox News, problem?

Same here, I added it because my father-in-law is a big Fox news fan and he's coming to visit tomorrow, but all I get is a black screen.

Re: Ameba Channel---Kids

I'd never noticed this channel until today (when looking for the $1.99 remote deal), is there a listing anywhere of all the shows currently offered by the channel? I might give the trial a try and see what the kids think.

I also don't see it on my Roku 1's, and my kids are using the Roku 2 right now. Does it let you order multiple? Two for $4 plus $5 shipping would be nice.

Re: roksbox -Streaming Local Media Channel Available for Tes

That's the filename, and it was just an example. Most all the files are .mp4, there may be a few .avi or .mkv, but I would expect roksbox to not be able to play them... not crash to home whenever the folder is opened. Is the fact that some files are .avi or .mkv causing the crash to home? Do all yo...

Re: C/Net Offers Roku 2 XS Model for $25 Off !

Just an update, Roku would not issue me a credit. Disappointed. You can return that one, and buy the discounted one. But almost no companies will just knock a price down because someone else has a special deal. Except this is not 'someone else' selling the Roku, you buy it direct from the Roku stor...

Re: roksbox -Streaming Local Media Channel Available for Tes

Hey WilDD, Is it possible to organize episodes of shows so that Roksbox works like netflix and shows just one piece of artwork and then lets you select a specific episode to watch? I'm pretty sure there's not, but I don't use xml files, and maybe that gives you the option. If there's not, is there a...

Re: Can I Stream Movies from a NAS?

So I'm wondering if a Roku 2 would suit my needs. Basically, what I'd like is a device that will allow me to watch Hulu+ (or Netflix) on my TV, but also stream digital movie files from a NAS storage device (or my computer). I use Roksbox to stream from my NAS, and it works great, here's a tutorial ...

Re: Roku 2 Hardware Specification

I'm only an enthusiast which wants to know everything about the hardware before buying anything :) And the fact, that Roku2 is based on Linux 2.6-Kernel makes this product very interesting. I could run nearly everything without being limited by the SDK. Maybe a port of Ubuntu is possible. However, ...

What framerate are you using? I used to get buffering until I changed to always using 29.97

Re: Best Router for Roku 2?

I'd go wired if you have the option (and you have a Roku with an ethernet port), but I'm assuming you don't if the tv and and computer are on different floors. What kind of internet do you have? If it's with a cable company you might be able to just move the modem downstairs to where your tv is, con...
