Hi, This is a cool app, and helps me to control the SB downstairs, which I am listening to upstairs (!) via Twonky now_playing. The info display seems quite limited - no cover art, year, disc #, or bitrate shown, although all of these are contained in the id tags and therefore the data being sent to...
For those who don't wish to download and install the application, just to find out how it works... ***start*** # This is the Firefly Media Server config file. # # Note that any changes made to this file will require the server to be # shut down and restarted # # [general] # # web_root (required) # #...
Thanks for the replies. Sorry about more questions, but I haven't been able to find Firefly documentation for answers. Maybe there is wider interest in these issues anyway. Q1 - Can Firefly use the iTunes xml db (like Twonky does) instead of scanning 1000's of files to create its own db? It always s...
Sounds interesting: - 2 questions - 1) Is firefly/daap/rsp mutually exclusive with upnp? I run multiple media players off twonky and would like to continue to do so. Maybe I need to run twonky for upnp and firefly for roku? 2) Does firefly support "now playing" like twonky? This means I ca...
I have downloaded iBridge which is a great help in running a house-wide system. I can play stuff downstairs via the SB/stereo, and modify the queue from a pc upstairs. But does anybody have a simple way of playing the same stream/queue at the same time on the server pc (or another pc)? I can do this...
I collect quite a lot of mp2 files from digital tv/radio transmissions, and I lose something in transcoding them, I think. Native support would be good, and I think it will grow with increased digital transmissions in Europe.
This seems such a shame, that to me, Twonky and Roku represent the best products in their respective areas, but they seem to be incompatible with each other in this respect.
I would also be quite interested in this for the same reason. I find myself running winamp, itunes and twonky to do everything I need to do. But does iTunes cater for plug-ins at all? Doesn't sound like Apple's style to me.
When I am trying out different server setups, it is a bit of a pain to go downstairs to the Roku to see how it likes the latest settings. It would be great if there was a soft-Roku on my PC which would emulate the SB hardware and UI. Best thing would be an interpreter, so I could load it up with the...
Actually, it probably is not so cool to admit, but I use iTunes for all my mp3 maintenance. I think it is quite powerful, and you can set it to maintain the folders in line with your id3 tags. It is quite good at editing multiple files with one or more changes, e.g. new cover art for all tracks of a...
