Re: Roku TV Calibration?

Thank you. I have used the "*" menu and while it offers the very basic, brightness/contrast/sharpness/color set of options, these are the base options on most sets with "advance" offering things that are nowhere to be found on this set. I would like control over enhancement featu...

Roku TV Calibration?

Hello, I recently purchased a 55" TCL Roku TV. Overall it is a nice unit. I'm a bit thrown off by how incredibly limited the calibration settings are. Is there a secret menu to reach some settings like dynamic contrast, refresh rate, "just scan", black levels, gamma settings, etc...? ...

Re: Can we get a definate yes or no on netflix 5.1?

That's the problem really because a "valid" criticism is really relative and more a matter of opinion than fact. If someone spends their hard earned money on the product and are unhappy with it for some reason I feel they should have the right to come and express that. And, apparently, yo...

Re: Can we get a definate yes or no on netflix 5.1?

Point me to a single post on this board where someone had a negative criticism about the Roku and it wasn't met with some sort of backlash by a Roku lover and I will concede to your point. You can't honestly believe that every single fault someone could find with the box is unfounded and deserves a...

Re: Can we get a definate yes or no on netflix 5.1?

@vmps, The comment isn't flame bait at all. It is the truth. Ok, please cite the quote from your original comment: "Roku is perfect and everything that is wrong with it is someone else's fault." It's not truth, and it's not reasonable discourse. You're trivializing other people's opinions...

Re: Can we get a definate yes or no on netflix 5.1?

That is just what I mean...if it is open then let it be open. If it is not open then don't use the excuse of it being open for the reason why Roku shouldn't have to provide better support. I don't mean to only point out the negatives...when I first got the Roku I liked it, in fact I liked it enough ...

Re: Can we get a definate yes or no on netflix 5.1?

@vmps, The comment isn't flame bait at all. It is the truth. There is a group of members on this board that jump in and bash anyone who has the nerve to suggest that Roku might be doing something wrong. Perhaps some people are happy with a piece of weakly supported hardware because it is "open&...

Re: Can we get a definate yes or no on netflix 5.1?

Who cares whose fault it is? What is Roku doing to fix the situation? Is there an open line of communication between Roku and Netflix about what their customers want or expect? Why can't we get any kind of answers for anything where the Roku is concerned? I've come to expect it from netflix but I wo...

Re: [Private Channel] My Channels: home screen channel organ

It is surprising to see that someone can fulfill all these requests in their spare time while they go largely ignored by those who are being paid for it. Roku doesn't develop channels. They sell the box and develop the firmware that makes it all work. Exactly, so the features that people want need ...

Re: [Private Channel] My Channels: home screen channel organ

I'm not sure why the people at Roku don't go ahead and hire you as part of the team. You seem to have a knack for listening to what people want and the skills to implement it. It would make good sense to get you on board and put those talents to good use. Of course then they might not let you put ou...

Re: Timeless Toons

Is this channel 100% kid friendly content? There won't be any Anime or anything will there?

Also, what bitrate does it stream in. Hopefully something rather low...that would be good for the kid's room.

Re: [Upcoming Channel] Netflix users needed for beta testing

I'd be willing to spring for the paid version if it included the option to launch the movie directly into the netflix channel without having to add it to the queue. I still like the channel though it makes it nice for browsing and being able to have some idea what to search for when you do switch ov...

Re: FINALLY DITCHED HULU+

But I take exception to people claiming that they've somehow gotten less than the free service when they've subscribed. It's just blatantly false and that kind of stuff bugs me. In that case, what I've purchased is more access, but to fewer shows, correct? Abso-f***ing-lutely NOT! You get MORE no m...
