Re: Netflix and multiple roku players in the same house....

I've had two concurrent streams on both the 1 disc and streaming only plans without issue. I think the faq may be outdated.

Re: Setup to Record?

If you are only interested in logistics and not concerned with legality or morality then there are always ways to accomplish what you want. The problem is that these companies aren't ever going to make it convenient for you to do so. You can argue that fact until you are blue in the face but it won'...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

Just wanted to briefly chime in here: I read your original post, jp1, and was pleasantly surprised when you edited it. The fact that everyone was able to have a laugh at this thread was a welcome change, and shows the overall maturity of the community, which I'm thankful for. Having been a part of ...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

I think I said something like for a non AT&T customer you sure were attacking them with the tenacity of a junkyard dog. That's true. I guess I just don't like the direction things are going. If more people would be willing to fight for what they want though we would all be getting a better shak...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

Sigh.... I'm out. I had a funny reply all typed out to the other post you made. Your edit made it get eaten. , sorry. It was made in haste and I decided to be a little more rational. What's worse is that last post was actually my second slightly more rational post. Haha, I have now moved on t...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

Also, I did propose an alternative. Have a set price for the capped plan and have a different set price for the unlimited plan. These overage charges can lead to ridiculous bills which is what they are banking on. The model is made this way instead because it makes video streaming prohibitively exp...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

The water service doesn't really compare, because you're talking about a finite resource, not necessarily a shared service. A better comparison is phone service. When we all still had land lines, for the most part, we could call locally as much as we wanted for one flat fee. Some people would talk ...

Re: Original Content Hurdle

I think it is a great idea and I would love to see some of the shows that get killed off before their time find a second life through streaming. It would be a great way to offer programming that doesn't directly conflict with the big networks. I bet that it would be pretty hard to set something like...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

You're still not being very clear on what video traffic you're talking about. So basically you're hoppin' mad and aren't going to consider the other side of the argument or propose alternatives. Didn't you claim to have an open mind or not be ignoring what other people said, or something like that?...

Re: AT&T to implement DSL caps

Well, those points are certainly more clear now. However, I still don't understand how you can justify Netflix having a model where low bandwidth users subsidize high bandwidth users but assume that it won't work the same way for ISPs. Also, as far as AT&T allowing their video traffic uncapped ...
