Yep - bit of a tricky one!!! My guess (nothing more) is that this in some way relates to an update to the Napster snap-in. It was only when I downloaded a track that the security update pop-up appeared. Do you guys have a decent relationship with Napster? Their online support presence is truly the w...

I'll ask about the shipping problem. The offer is only for existing customers (ie those who have either 1) purchased directly from Roku, or 2) purcahsed from another vendor and registered their product with us or applied for a rebate) Patrick, I am a little confused about the suggestion this is onl...

Yes, I could play from WMP but I still had the WMC service running when I first tried. By stopping them both and re-running WMP (which has the Napster snap-in installed) I was prompted for the security update. So, I accepted that and then re-started WMC. All worked from that point forward.

OK, here's the solution to this. Kudo's to Microsoft for giving me this. Shut down the WMC server and exit Napster and WMP (I used the Napster snap-in for WMP, so I wasn't using the standalone Napster app). Then re-run WMP and play a Napster tracks. You'll be prompted to download a security update. ...

OK, I upgraded to WMC 2.0. The good news is that the little lock icon is gone. So, I can select a track and play it. I then see "Acquiring license" for a few seconds and then "Unable to play <track">. So, the message has changed but the end result (can't play tracks) remains. Is this the experience ...

Some users asked their DRM music vendor to re-authorize their licensed content and it helped. Anyway, first try updating Windows Media Player 10 to a later build if you have something older than 3901 (it contains DRM updates)... and if you haven't yet updated to WMC 2, do that too. Thank you. I am ...

Anyone (things to try, clues, etc?) I'd really like to listen to Napster stuff this weekend...

Thanks.

A little more information... I downloaded a new Napster track (as opposed to one I had previously downloaded). Same result - I can play from the WMC machine but get the lock on the M2000. So, right now, I can't play any Napster content right now. My account is all paid up :-)

Any ideas on this? Last night I was able to play Napster-based tracks just fine. I haven't made any configuration changes of any nature at the M2000 or in WMC. Tonight, I get the little lock on all Napster tracks and the "Cannot play protected content" message. I have rebooted the WMC machine and th...

Any further suggestions? My M2000 is pretty useless to me at this point (I don't tend to use the Internet Radio feature, personally, which is the only thing it'll do right now).

May want to review running processes, as surely there is something blocking the needed port. Have you ran Norton? It apparently has worm protection that blocks ports, ZoneAlarm the same. We've heard reports that simply disabling firewall was not enough...that removal was the only way to regain port...

I think I've confirmed that WMC isn't at fault here. Twonkyvision has the same issue, withour without the firewall. I've checked the Windows Firewall extensions (when it is turned on) and everything looks good. So, at this stage I am not sure where to go. As a recap, nothing seems to be "seeing" the...

Try turning on the XPSP2 firewall after a fresh boot, launch Twonky, and the XP firewall should popup and ask you to allow it, select yes. Now hardboot the SB. HTH, G'Luck! Actually, I must have had the firewall on. I like it on in general but have been turning it off for testing purposes. However,...

Would you mind trying a different server. iTunes would be OK, another UPnP server would be better (such as twonkyvision or even Musicmatch). This will help us determine if the fault is ours or WMC's. OK - doesn't look like a WMC issue after all. I installed Twonkyvision and had the same inability t...

You didn't mention if you see WMC from the SoundBridge. Also, what version of software do you have on your SoundBridge. If you don't have the latest (2.3.44), I'd recommend upgrading as we fixed at least one problem relating to UPnP discovery. Thanks Patrick. No - the Soundbridge reports no librari...
