OK, sorry. I guess frustration got the better of me there. This is what I see at the moment. After an unpredictable amount of time, my Soundbridge will quit playing the current song, and attempt to buffer each successive song without success. At this point, restarting the SoundBridge (through the me...

Just to add: I think I might have spoken too soon. The problem is still manifesting itself, although it does seem to be less apparent than with RSP. Maybe I'm imagining that?

Will someone from Roku please comment.

I think I may be experiencing something similar. See this post:

I have no way of telling whether or not I'm getting a "packet storm" on my network, but my symptoms certainly sound similar to yours.

No views from Roku?

FWIW: I've removed the rsp.so plugin from Firefly on my slug, so I'm back on DAAP again. The SoundBridge seems to be playing reliably again, however it doesn't look good for my idea of obtaining another SoundBridge, which will almost certainly have to be a Pinnacle one

As you can see from the thread that polson posted, I'm also having the same trouble. It had been doing it occasionally since I upgraded to 2.5.171, but after switching from DAAP to RSP a couple of days ago it has become much worse.

If you have stud walls, you could mount the SoundBridge in a rectangular cut-out in the wall, behind a glass window. Then you can make all the connections nice and safely in the room behind. Keep your amp in that room, and run speaker wire up through the loft to some ceiling mounted speakers in the ...

You could do kind of the opposite of what I do: I have two dynamic playlists that pick up the comment tag of each file. comment = "fav" comment = "pty" OR comment = "fav" for Favourite and Party music respectively. Whenever I find a file I like, I just add the appropria...

It felt like forever! Seriously, I left it upgrading while I made a coffee, so I don't really know when it stopped, and I was typing the first post here when it timed out, so I estimate somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. I'm sure one of the Roku guys can give the exact timeout period. Thanks for t...

OK, forget I said anything... at some point while I was typing the above the Soundbridge timed out, then re-downloaded the upgrade.

All is fine now, panic over.

Soundbridge hangs while upgrading...

I just set my M1001 upgrading to 2.5. The progress bar went about a third of the way across and has stopped there. It's been like that for about 20 minutes now.
What do I do? Pulling the plug doesn't seem like a good idea...

Responses eagerly awaited!
Cheers

I just re-read your 2nd post. To delete your existing installation and reinstall a different one: killall -9 mt-daapd ipkg remove mt-daapd ipkg install mt-daapd........... Take heart in the fact that I don't consider myself linux-literate in any way whatsoever, but I've learnt an awful lot just from...

Frank, I've had LOADS of trouble with 1281 on my slug. It runs for anything up to an hour and then crashes. I've captured a -d9 log and Ron is looking at it. I downgraded to 1249, and found myself in a similar situation to yourself, Firelfy just wouldn't start. Examining the log showed an incompatib...

Ah OK. Is that another bug then? The wizard supplies "playcount" not "play_count".

Working fine now, cheers.

OK, but I used the wizard to create a simple "Never Played" playlist:

playcount = 0

Nothing doing...

BTW, erasing songs.db - is that the same as doing a full rescan (I'm running on an NSLU2)? I did a full rescan last night after I upgraded.

If you want to use the integrated FireFly Smart Playlist features, use the web administraton interface available. ("Smart Playlist" section on the left.) There is a "wizard" to help a bit with the syntax. Is it just me or does this not work in 1249? I've just tried creating one ...
