I experineced this a couple of nights ago. I have a broadly similar setup to you. I'm running svn 909 mt-daapd and I get the occasional lock up where it (mt-daapd/NSLU2) needs restarting (my record uptime is 24 days 20 hours so I'm not complaining!). But it went earlier this week, and upon restart m...

Peter,
Thanks for the advice. I still can't make up my mind though! Trouble is, it's fast enough (for me) as it is, so I'm aplying the old maxim: "if it ain't broke, don't bugger around with it!".

I'll think about for a while longer.
Cheers

Peter, I've read about that hardware mod. I've even gone as far as to take the thing apart and ID the resistor in question, but I can't bring myself to remove it.

Is the increase in performance noticeable? And if yes, is it worth it?

Are you talking about DVD-Audio (can go up to a of maximum of 24 bit + 192 kHz sample rate PCM in stereo or 6 channels of 24 bit + 96 kHz), or are you talking about audio encoded in AC3 format (which is not DVD-Audio)? (learn more here ) If anyone knows of a way to rip true DVD-Audio, I'd be intere...

I have been meaning to upgrade from svn909 to svn1005 (now 1018) since I saw it there last week. One question though: Do I just install over the top, or do I need to uninstall 909 first? If so, how do I do that?

What server are you using? When I used WMC2.0, it did update almost instantly.
I'm using mt-daapd now and that does periodoc rescans of the database at intervals you specify. Every 10 minutes is the default.

I actually found the nightly easier to install as I couldn't find an ipk file of the stable version Dave.B How do you install the nightly versions ? I simply ran ipkg install mt-daapd, and it did it all for me. Can you simply overwrite that with the modified nightly executable ? Presumably you down...

I have been toying with the idea of using the nightlies updates, but my Linus skills are very weak, and I am not entirely sure how the decompress and install those updates. Can any one tell me how to use them ? I actually found the nightly easier to install as I couldn't find an ipk file of the sta...

Just my two cents worth: I spent all day Saturday configuring my new NSLU2 and 300GB HDD. Like some previous posters, I had no Linux skill at all, but the instructions are out there. Whatever you you do though, don't click refresh while on the firmware update page (ask me how I know!). Anyway, I got...

First post, been lurking for a while though and following this closely. As mentioned by mohss back on page 7, I can reproduce this problem every time by turning on my microwave. At all other times my M1001 works perfectly using wireless, but turn the microwave on and it will start rebuffering and sk...
