Okay, now I have my LinkStation acting like a SlimServer 6.2...and I have Slim Roku 1.0b2 on the compact flash card in the Roku.

I'm having a bit of difficulty --- SlimRoku runs and finds my music and plays my music ----but I'll go through the SlimRoku postings before I ask for help.

add'l info

I am also using Rev A hardware with a 64MB swapfile on Compact Flash. One add'l thing I've noticed is that although the System Info screen says "Swapfile: 64 MB", when I telnet into the Roku and look at the swapfile with "ls -l", the time stamp of the swap file never seems to change. Is this normal?...

Playlists sometimes stop at random points

When using the built-in player (Sonata, I believe it is called), it sometimes stops at the end of song and doesn't go to the next song. If it starts a song, it always finishes it (unless we do an activity with the Roku that tells it to stop). However, sometimes it automatically goes to the next item...

NAS and Slim Server in one box?

:?:

Are there any network storage devices that can act as a Slim Server? Are there things that are not PCs that can act as a Slim Server?

Don't want another Windows box in my network.

works for me

Casman, I've had my roku for at least 1 year now and been happy with it. I've not been able to find another device with superior capability. Having said that, a lot of the capability doesn't come from Roku software, but rather from software built by the folks who post on this forum. I use the Roku t...

Thanks for the reply. The suggestion works. I'll need to find a way so the CF is mounted (or remounted) automatically as read-write after each reboot. I don't reboot often, but in recent days, I've been fiddling with my Roku quite a bit. With power outages, etc, I'd like it to work well upon reboot....

CF sometimes read only

I've tried edit or create a file on a mounted compact flash card, and when using vi to save it, I receive an error saying "Read-only file system". Likewise, the system fails my attempts to remove unwanted files from the CF card or mv files to new names. This doesn't seem to happen every time, but re...
