I have two M2000s and they are, IMHO, the best product Roku has ever made. The only disadvantage this unit has is that it does not support WPA. This can be overcome by connecting the unit to a bridge.

With room temperature being about 70 F (21C), the display and the AM/FM antenna connector areas were at a temperature of about 95 F (35C). The R1000 temperatures were measured with an IR thermometer while the radio was playing at a low volume (20%) and a medium display brightness.

A quick search in these fora will show that several users have experienced the same problem. As you have already discovered, the only solution to the problem is to unplug the unit. Roku has not provided a software fix for this problem.

Ali_B, once the unit is fixed then connect it to a small UPS. This should eliminate the problems related to the power interruptions.

@bretb

3. You can 'avoid' the dimming of the display by changing the font type on the Soundbridge Radio.

What's all of this with the dead units ? (I'm worried because I have another one, bought recently from Amazon.fr : should I expect the same fate ?) I would say that the overall power supply design is not as good as it should have been. One does not want to cover the power supply components with 'gu...

Turn the radio off for a while. If it behaves oddly after having it turned back on again then get it replaced while still under warranty.

Did you check that the power supply is still outputting the correct DC voltage? The power supplies of the SoundBridges, and the SB Radio for that matter, have the tendency of dying.

Du solltest in Erwaegung ...

@dan

The measured voltage is too low. Most local electronic stores should carry a replacement adaptor.
