Re: How long does an uncertified channel take to publish?

public requires a certification process, I'm almost certain you don't want that. Log into Roku site and go to "manage my channels", then "preview and update" the channel you're interested in.  Near the top is a drop down menu that will default to "Preview and Publish" (...

Re: How long does an uncertified channel take to publish?

uncertified channels don't appear in the store and will not be publicly discoverable; you'll need to find the link (default or "vanity") from within your developer channel page and provide it to anyone who will add the channel. Once you publish an uncertified channel it's generally availab...

Re: Adding any given number of labels and/or posters during runtime

You could loop over the array and append them using "m.top.appendChild(newNode)" and remove using m.top.removeChild()  see other related methods here: https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/ifSGNodeChildren#ifSGNodeChildren-removeChild(childasroSGNode) Or you could make them all children ...

Re: Adding any given number of labels and/or posters during runtime

If those dynamic elements aren't coming from the server, then you don't need to use the separate task node. You have some options, you can either * Have all the elements pre-defined in your XML and just alter their visibility (item.visible = true /  item.visible = false) when you need to show / hide...

Re: Help With Deep Linking

where you have 'play content directly' you need to replace with code to launch the player, most likely the same way it would've been launched had the user navigated to that video, so that when they exit the video, they will land on a page where they could re-launch the same video.  I'm not familiar ...

Re: Adding any given number of labels and/or posters during runtime

Generally you have a parent component that launches a task and observes the content (a node field on the task).  When the content updates, the parent component sets the content of some component (such as a rowlist or a some other component that takes a content field). Something like  m.rowlist.conte...

Re: Change background of focused letter of MiniKeyboard?

I think it would be best to have a remote service provide a dynamically colored image based on a param (color) passed in the http request.

Re: Left padding of MiniKeyboard textEditBox

yeah that's a pain, don't see any way to distinguish the text from the background; you could maybe position a separate fake background (poster) over it and maybe get it to work?

Re: Resetting default letter selection of MiniKeyboard

well it's not brightscript that's stopping you but the design of the individual components.  Roku could have included this when they created the pre-built components, but since they didn't, you still have the option to build your own custom component that looks and acts like the miniKeyboard compone...

Re: Resetting default letter selection of MiniKeyboard

If I'm not mistaken,  miniKeyboard and keyboard don't support setting position programmatically; I think you have two options: 1) re-instantiate each time the screen loads; m.minikeyboard = createObject("RoSGNode", "miniKeyboard")   (now it will have default focus position, and a...

Re: Left padding of MiniKeyboard textEditBox

Did you try setting TextEditBox width to something less than the keyboard / background image width?
