internet radio and audio file player/product suggestion

Hi everyone: I started a thread here, for suggesting how Roku could perhaps position the video player as a good audio internet radio and network audio file solution for stereo systems, by helping prospective buyers better see their way clear to purchasing a small screen and making this possible thro...

You should be able find a similar sub $100 TV with an HDMI input if your Roku only has HDMI. Also http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-VMB070-Inch-Ra...

product suggestion

My suggestion is to consider selling a small (under $100, maybe under $50) separate video screen that can readily be attached to a Roku video streaming player so that in situations where all that is needed or desired is to use the Roku as an internet radio streaming device, this can be done hassle f...

Re: WEP key? trying to pull a Soundbridge out of mothballs

Thanks Dupondt. I think a sticking point for an hour or two was that my Netgear router seemed to offer a wep option for awhile, and that tempted me into thinking maybe I could make the whole setup work, with some level of security, but then later when I went back I couldn't find it. At some point I ...

Re: WEP key? trying to pull a Soundbridge out of mothballs

Addenda - I got it to work by putting security on the netgear router for the guest network to none. I just can't keep it that way, but did verify that it works (listened to a station for awhile). - The netgear router seems finicky and I can no longer readily bring up any option for WEP security, so ...

WEP key? trying to pull a Soundbridge out of mothballs

Hi - I decided today to try to set up an old soundbridge that I have. There was nothing wrong with it when I put it away. I connected it to my stereo system and fired it up. Connecting via ethernet is problematic (too far across my house) and so I tried to connect wirelessly and ran into seemingly i...

Re: Where are the preview panes?

It seems to me that it has been several months since I have seen the "preview panes" on any amazon video that I watch. By "preview panes" I mean the panes of every 10 seconds or so one can see, whether going forward or backward in a paused video. I don't know if this is the righ...

Re: Channel Store Request, over many years

While I'm at it, it has been suggested that the search function is an adequate answer. It isn't. You omitted some context. It was suggested (by me) that the search function is an adequate answer for finding a specific channel whose name you know. Hi Mark: Thanks for the additional response, but I d...

Re: Channel Store Request, over many years

I would much rather have the ability to sort and organize My Channels. Even being able to use the same categories the Channel Store is organized into would be fine. Most Popular, News, Music, Comedy, Sports, Tech, Travel, Food, etc. Agreed that I'd also like to able better to organize my channels, ...

Re: Channel Store request, over many years

Show of hands, who misses alphabetical sort of Google (Bing etc) search results? Thanks, but you seem to be simply ignoring the point that some types of browsing are aided by alphabetizing, whether or not this applies to other types of browsing. Here is an idea, you can write plugin for your...

Re: Channel Store Plea, over many years

...Note that I don't disagree with the argument against a massive alphabetical list of all channels, but rather, I really like the idea of an alphabetical sort within a category. It has already been years since Roku came out with the Channel store and presented what to me is a format that should be...

Re: Where are the preview panes?

I have roku 3, own 11 seasons of NCIS on amazon, tried an episode from each season and I get the previews panes on all of them. Thanks, very helpful. I'll go on the working theory there may be something going on specific to my hardware or settings. I do wish I knew what to look for, or how to look.

Re: Where are the preview panes?

Thanks for both responses, I appreciate the effort of fellow users.

With respect to Bacon's questions/thoughts about Amazon we should I'm hoping be able to have other users confirm or not that this sort of thing fits a pattern.

Re: Where are the preview panes?

I would prefer not to go through the bureaucracy and time-expense of calling Roku tech support if this is a known issue. Would it be possible for anyone else from Roku or fellow users to weigh in, if they are familiar with the issue?
