Re: So many ideas

hort = RND(3) if hort = 1 printMsg("Heads") else if hort = 2 printMsg("Tails") end if So that should work, if you wrap it up: sub main() hort = RND(2) if hort = 1 then printMsg("Heads") else if hort = 2 then printMsg("Tails") end if while true end while end s...

Re: Channel packager

sure, you can create the package on Linux. You can't do anything with it once it is created, unless you have a Roku to load it onto. Generally speaking, you add export ROKU_DEV_TARGET=192.168.1.64 (ip of your roku) to ~/.bash_profile or ~/.bashrc depending on how your system is configured, then relo...

Re: Help....

Well, for the most part, looks like you are already doing it correctly. If you are talking about the missing first poster image, that is most likely due to referencing a .jpg when the actual file you are trying to display is a .png. showList = [ { ShortDescriptionLine1:"IRoad Italian Channel&qu...

Re: SDPosterUrl - Not Displaying Valid Image Path

First of all, try: ?image ?type(image) ?image="http://path/something.jpg" to see what the differences are between the value of the variable image and the value you think you are getting. clearly the value of image isn't the correct value for the path, so take a look at the actual value, co...

Basically, this forum is the place.

We will be working to make the documentation and examples much easier for new people to understand, in the near future.

Have happy Holidays!

Re: VideoPlayer and AudioApp

Assuming you are using the roPosterScreen for your channel, you would include as part of the posters representing each media item something that lets you know if it is audio or video. Conditionally based on that, you would launch a function to play audio, or launch a function to play video. Rough ex...

Re: Videoplayer and Episodes

But, now what I want on some Titles in the CategoryLeaf, I say some Titles, I need a way to Select the Title and go into an Episodic screen type list of shows, then select the Episode I want. How can I do this at this level? Generally, you would pass an array of the list of titles to a function tha...

Re: HLS ISSUE

Hi, can you post some details about how you are encoding the video, and how you are streaming the video - are you doing a live stream from Flash Media Live Encoder, or is this a prerecorded stream? What from what kind of server are you delivering it to the Roku devices you are testing? What format is...

Re: problem trying to submit channel

FYI to anyone creating channels: Channel names must be unique, you cannot have a public channel and a private channel with exactly the same name. Roku Developer Support can resolve this situation for you by renaming the Private channel for you, as has been done in this case.

Re: Videoplayer example question

Ok, here is a link to our MRSS template:

https://roku.box.net/s/vbbi27xueh8nr2nixdfn

You should be able to configure the feed source in the config.opml file at the root. This template should allow you to digest most blip.tv feeds and some wordpress feeds.

Re: Roku V 4.1 build 2667 Broke my app

There is a line in that file that can be helpful: 'Uncomment his line to dump the contents of the episode to be played 'PrintAA(episode) This of course assumes that you have left the printAA function in your channel. If you are comfortable with it, post the output from that function. - Joel

Re: Roku V 4.1 build 2667 Broke my app

As far as the telnet connection goes, the port is 8085. In terms of troubleshooting, one simple way is to print to the console as much information as possible so that you know where exactly the channel crashes. In videoplayer, you can use msg.getdata(), msg.getmessage(), msg.getindex(), msg.gettype(...

Re: Videoplayer example question

It would be helpful if you post a small sample of the MRSS feed you are trying to digest, you can remove any information that you wish to keep private, just leave the tags in place, then we can help you to understand how to parse that particular feed.
