Since Pinnacle is the sole distributor in Europe, you can't buy an iTunes compatible SoundBridge there anymore

really? see my post here

It seems to be iTunes compatible.

Is the re-scan time in FF set very short? You might have it set to rescan your whole database every 2-3 minutes which would make your m/c very slow. Try setting the re-scan time to every 12 hours or even off (set 0). You can always manually scan when you add new music.

omments like yours aren't helpful either to me or to Roku's reputation Sorry, didn't mean to sound harsh, and I admit it may not be helpful to you, but I disagree that it is harmful to Roku's reputation. My motive for posting is to balance the number of posters with problems. A potential buyer of a...

Evesham SB

Another version of the SB in the UK here
from Evesham Technology. Interesting thing is this version seems to be iTunes compatible (notwithstanding iT7 I guess).

was to connect to Itunes and it does, to all versions. Roku provide a little server application that bridges between iTunes and SB and replaces the server part of iTunes that is activated when you check "share my library". Its called "Firefly". Best of all, if you just want to s...

probable bug in the 2.5.174 firmware. The Soundbridge needs to try really hard to maintain connectivity with the iTunes/Firefly/DAAP server at all times

Is the bug Roku's? My set up running FF on 2 x PC's (different libraries) thru a 3com router is rock solid.

there is another post about incompatible servers here which might help.

Are you using a pinnacle branded SB? if so, it gives "incompatible server" if it can only see a daap server, not the rsp one.

perhaps I am talking out of turn here, but I am not sure that Roku *ever* directly supported linux. AIUI Firefly is a development of the mt-daaptd project that has been assisted by Roku to give an officially supported alternative server to uPnP, iTunes etc. The fact that firefly can be made to run o...

what exactly are you using the AP express for?. The usual/common set-up is Mac/PC with music server (or alternatively NAS) => wired to router => wireless connection from router straight to Roku's. You can make both links wireless, but this seems to be a receipe for instability based on other posts. ...

I think you do the same as me. People love it when they see my unit, but I make sure I tell them they *must* understand the underlying technology and that there is lots of potential for grief. I am sure I would have had a far harder time if I didn't know my way around my firewalls and router. I was ...

I now warn everyone about Roku's lack of real customer support How wrong can you get. The guys at Roku and Ron at Firefly are here, on this board, nearly every day. Just about everybody's issues get resolved. If you are having problems it is something on *your* system that is most likely causing it...

Don't know if its any help to anyone, but some time ago I had all sorts of weirdness with VPN, sometimes working, sometimes not. (nothing to do with SB at the time as I didn't have one). Turned out the office I was connecting to was using the same subnet as my home network - 192.168.1.1. Changing my...

in then stalled at searching for the media Make sure you only have one set of iTunes library/playlists anywhere near where FF searches. There have been reports of "backup" folders with duplicate files causing probs. I have never had any probs with FF on my XP SP2 box with either iT6 or iT7

There is another way the post here describes how to broadcast Pandora to SB using icecast and oddcast - it works - I can use it. What it actually does is broadcast *any audio* going through the soundcard to the SB, so you could if you wished, run realaudio on the PC and have the SB receive it. If yo...
