What device do you use for a server?
iTunes loads ALL playlists during connecting. If your server is a NSLU2 or some similiar device, and you have a lot of playlists, this might actually sound like reasonable numbers.

If you read the friendly manual, you'll find out that you can adjust the brightness of the "standby screen" - that displays date/time - seperately.

It should be, especially with the WRT350N that has an integraded Upnp-based media server.
Strictly speaking though, the soundbridge is not compatible with 802.11n networks. The router all support 802.11b/g as well, so thats why its going to work.

Well, technically you can create those playlists in iTunes at least. But you have to make sure that all the file locations are relative etc. Then you have to copy your iTunes.xml into your mp3_dir and make sure you've enabled all the required options in firefly. Winamp also is a quite nice tool to c...

I had to change only about 50 files. Therefore, it was not a big deal for me. Lucky you :) IF the majority of your music is English, I guess you're all set anyway. In German, this is a whole different story. There are lots of Umlauts, but one can live without these. In Finnish, however.... T...

Sweet:)

I'd set the rescan interval to 0, or 86400. The former would be do not rescan unless you tell it to do so on the web-config page thingy, the latter would be to rescan weekly. Since scanning is cumbersome for the poor slug, 600 seconds isnt really feasible.

Now mate, everything is alright :) Just indexing the database makes the slug really busy. And when I say really, it mean really. Up to the point where it doesnt react to any outside stir. So just leave it like that and be patient. I think it's about time to tell you the reason for the nickname "...

Erm, well, if you are really using a NSLU2 thats been unslung to 6.8, then tiese should be the correct paths. Weird. Ok, you need to follow the instructions we post here more careful. Its really tricky, but the slug is not forgiving any mistakes! ;) So, changing the path finally worked, but you chan...

Ok, you need to tell it your MP3s are located on the HD on the other USB port. So the location is /share/flash/public iirc. To tell mt-daapd to look there just edit your mt-daapd.conf. Now the caveat is that the default unix editor that comes with unslung is VI and thats crap, to put it blunt. Never...

For real general-purpose linux flavours that may be true, but definetely not for embedded flavours like OpenEmbedded, Unslung, etc. ;)

CPAN is easy enough, just need to have "make" and no fully fledged gcc environment.

Hehe, righty, well, at least yahoo weather didn't find it. ;)

Actually nice that most of the CPAN stuff seems to be working. Time to hammer in some more perl stuff. Btw yahoo thinks my town is in Italy while Im pretty sure it isnt. Che catso!

Yeah, I adjusted the IP in the file. Btw is there a reason why hostnames dont work, just IPs? hostnames would be a nice addition, I think. Ok, I guess I wasn't patient enough. I just hope the slug doesn't choke on perl ;) On a sidenote, how comes I have to do the CPAN>o conf make /opt/bin/make every...

Hm, finally pokwed with perl and cpan on the slug a little.
make isnt included in the configuration, which took me some time to realize.

So, now the programs working, but I don't see anything on the RoKu.
Are there some hooks i can check in the perl script?
