I use simple.tv on my roku4, no problems. I've never gotten it to work through plex on any roku player, but the standalone roku channel works fine for me, so that doesn't really matter to me. maybe try unpairing it and re-associating it with your account? you could also remove and re-install the sim...
Actually that's not how the IR remotes work. While holding down a button, the remote repeatedly sends a key code. When you release the button, it stops sending the code. The Roku software generates a release event when it detects that it is no longer receiving the key code. So it shouldn't be possi...
I have run into that issue as well. I use it to cheat when playing a space game I'm writing. :D At least for now. The remote sends the keyup code, but it doesn't mean the roku receives it, so if you hit a button, then aim the remote away when you release it, often that never gets received. The only ...
can you put something over the sensor? I had a weird issue a year or so ago when I started writing the camera channel. I have a pile of roku players in my office and all of the sudden they all went nuts and stopped working, I couldn't control them or anything. Took me a while to figure out that the ...
I can't reproduce this. It may be fixed, or perhaps it was an issue with my player needing to be rebooted after the update. I'm not sure, but things seem to be working now. I'll update if anything comes up.
ok thanks guys. Was hoping it was a known issue. channel hasn't been changed but after the 7 update some sounds simply don't play anymore. silence. Not good. will track it down and get a test case as soon as I get a couple other things out the door and have some free time to research whats going on.
It will be illegal for RokuCo to do so unilaterally. I meant once you click on the required boxes, one would think it would be in some kind of database or something. I dunno. I'm sure there is a good reason for it, just seems like extra work for someone, when they clearly are already very busy with...
Ya I thought it was a really nice talk. A lot of good info in one place.
I think we can do most of those effects in BS, or at least some type of approximation ...its just a lot of work. I've been pretty lazy with fx in my roku stuff, but I think I probably need to step up a bit more.
not that it would help OP, but it would be pretty awesome if we had a roku emulator with the different models to develop and test on like we have for android.
No TV needed. or for me, easier to watch TV while I work.
if your hub can act as a server and you just need something to interface with it, display information, transmit input, it would work well for that. If you already have a web interface or on many levels a smartphone app, you could expect the same type of functionality to be possible in a roku channel...
