Re: Private Channel Package Update Delay?

The last couple of days it's as if the private channels are on a different tier, and it alternates when they update. So  - i update a pkg, then go to manually update the Roku, and it says up-to-date, or it only downloads a public channel update. Trying again 10 minutes later gets the private channel...

Sure sounds like it. That's cool.

Re: Updating existing published Channel

Thanks OddScott for straightening me out. Maybe the OP is confused where they were, because vanity code is on the first page of the channel submitting process.

Re: Updating existing published Channel

The SDK docs are a little confusing.

It sounds like InstantTV has control of your channel updating ( not surprising) so you will have to ask them how to make the transition. The "package Upload" page usually has a version, minimum firmware, and upload package buttons.

Re: Registry not cleared after removing channel

It has functions for reading/writing to the registry but again, you will have to code what it is you want to save.

Re: Registry not cleared after removing channel

How do you change the  Dev ID for each channel?  if you have 3 channels, do you have to have three different Roku devices signed into with three different developer accounts to save the package from? if you are talking about the dev ID that you get along with a password after running GenKey at port...

Re: How/when do I collect subscriber money ?

Roku pays via PayPal monthly. I usually get mine during the last 5 days of the month. They will be one month behind the actual receipts.

Re: Registry not cleared after removing channel

Just consider flush() as save. Then it makes sense. And destruk is right, just overwrite the value, not the whole thing.

I even tried doing a factory reset, and it seems this data has still persisted.

That's not really possible with channel-created data, unless the channel itself is creating it on its initial launch.

.has anyone else had a similar experience with flush()?

If you're not flush()-ing. the data in question won't be saved.  Now, maybe that's what you want, and maybe not. If you are having trouble with things persisting, it means you are not deleting the right things, when you think you are.

Re: How long is your code?

I seem to be bad at estimating the future, because now I'm up to 37,883, and I'm certainly not done yet, but hopefully in another year or so ;-) Wow. I just counted the thing I'm doing which is 4 different 30 minute loops of animation and got 15,000. But! no comments. Aren't you doing a kind of ret...

My advice is to only use integer math unless there's a compelling reason not to (which there never is).

Animation might be an exception.

That would be news to most of the games and screensavers in the channel store.
