Re: Feed ingesting for new, unpublished channel - not working

Try using a different browser and clearing the cache. Are you sure you don't have feed errors?

Re: Newbie problem

I opened your feed file in my software and it reported the following: 2019-03-02 09:34:38.3228 ERROR Empty 'series' object found in feed file. 2019-03-02 09:34:38.3228 ERROR Empty 'short form videos' object found in feed file. 2019-03-02 09:34:38.3228 ERROR Empty 'tv special' object found in feed fi...

While I've never done it, I believe that's correct.

Re: Rearrange Categories

In my opinion, if you are using Json for your feed, it is much easier to control your channel attributes through the feed file than by using the developer portal. That includes reordering categories. The developer portal can be quirky at times.

You might want to post this in the Direct Publisher forum.

Re: Unable to publish MRSS feed using <media:group>

Is there any reason why you don't use json to code your feed file? Json provides much more capabilities for a feed file.

Re: help!!!!!!! Video Not Loading/retrieving

This could be a permission error on your server. What are you using for a server and have you tried loading the URL in a browser?

Re: Video link showing on preview but no video on device

Sounds like a problem in your feed file. If I were to guess, I'd check for a valid category for your video. Post your feed file if you want further inspection.

Re: No Valid items found in feed

skrydal: The software reports the following: Empty 'category' object found in feed file. An empty Category object in your feed file will probably cause problems when ingested by Roku.  You must either specify your categories in the Developer Portal, or, in the feed file.   In addition, you've got lo...

Re: No Valid items found in feed

BenMosier : I think you may want to take a closer look at your feed file you posted.  I loaded your feed into the software I wrote and it reported the following errors: Error converting value "faith" to type 'System.String[]'. Path 'shortFormVideos[0].tags', line 60, position 18. 0000001 ...

Re: I need help building my ROKU channel!

Have you thought about using Roku's Direct Publisher tool to create your channel? There's no coding and it's relatively quick to put a channel together.

Just curious... Are you, in any way, affiliated with the service you keep promoting?

Re: Feed Not Updating

Updates to published channels do not take effect immediately. It may take up to 6 hours for Roku to refresh the feed.

Re: Direct Publisher to SDK

I haven't played with the SDK in quite a while, but, I think you should be able to get access to the code if you use Eclipse and a Telnet client.
