tried editing tags, no joy

I just tried editing the tags using both WinAmp and WMP, and both programs successfully updated the tags... but still SB reports that it can't play the song via WMP.

MP3 tracks play via SlimServer, but not via WMP 11

I have an M1001, and it a large collection of tracks in mp3, wma, and DRM wma which all play fine on my SoundBridge via Windows Media Player 11. A few days ago, I <gasp> used LimeWire to download a few tracks that I couldn't buy on iTunes or through my URGE subscription. I downloaded three tracks in...

Number one issue

For me, this is probably the Number One Issue for Roku products. I'd rather have this fixed than any new codec, wifi security issue, or media library feature. It's incredibly annoying to have to walk to my basement server to wake it up so I can play its files. After all, what's the point of all the ...

Internet Radio Bit Rate info please

I'd very much like a richer "station info" report, including bit rate and stream format. Seems to me that this should be straight-forward to include, as virtually all PC-based music software displays this information by default.

Windows software to stream WMA files from network PC?

Hi folks, I have two Roku devices, and love them. My son would like to use his laptop to listen to WMA files that are stored on our family PC. The files are from the Microsoft URGE service, and are DRM protected. Our Roku devices play them fine, as they stream them through the Windows Media Player s...

DHCP issues

My Roku Radio and M1001 could not receive IP addresses from the Linksys WRT54GS router, because I had "upgraded" the router's firmware to the most recent version (1.50.9). Turns out that this version of the router's firmware broke the DHCP server for many devices, including Macs and Roku d...

Linksys WRT54GS instead

For what it's worth, I had plenty of problems creating sustained, reliable connections with the D-Link DI-524 router, with both my Roku Radio and my M1001. I bought a Linksys WRT54GS wifi router and tossed my D-link into a pile of discarded electronics in my closet. With the WRT54GS, both the Radio ...

Real audio, please

Yes, please please please add real audio, or at least explain to us why it's not already in the package. Is it a technical limitation? Is it a licensing issue? What is special about the Acoustic Energy radio that allows it to stream Real Audio?

URGE works OK

For what it's worth, I joined the microsoft URGE music service (I think it's a partnership with MTV), and the WMP 11 plays the DRM files just fine across to my M1001 and Roku Radio. Pretty cool service: $100 for a year of unlimited downloads, playable only while your account is in good standing. (e....

World Service

The URL for the world service, posted on the first page of this thread, works for me 24x7. Sound quality is not the best (24kbits), but it's entirely listenable across the room. Better to use the public radio rebroadcasters for high-quality sound, when available.

Of course I couldn't see my devices... my laptop was connecting to my neighbor's identically named network, which also runs on a linksys router. Doh!

WMP problems solved; admin consoles still invisible

Turned out that the linksys by default assigns DHCP addresses starting from 192.168.1.100, whereas the D-link by default assigns from 192.168.0.100, so I had to reconfigure my firewall to let the PC see the Roku devices. Now the WMP is playable by the Roku devices. Still, though, my wifi laptop can'...

WRT54GS config issue: Internet Radio, but no admin or WMP

Hi folks, I've been a a happy Roku user for months now. My system was working well to listen to Internet radio as well as Windows Music Player server on my wired PC. Yesterday I changed my wifi router from a D-Link 524 (which produced constant rebuffering problems with 2.7 beta), to a Linksys WRT54G...
